  Good lens much better than the GM 1 version both in sharpness and contrast.

  But it gets significant competition from within the family Sony 16-35 F4 PZ which sells for $1100 , 60% less than this lens's price and works exceptional for 90% of the situations unless night or really low light shooting is dominant.
  F4 PZ is on nearly on par with this lens in terms of contrast and sharpness.

  For the last 10% performance achievement, you need GM2

    Very true, the PZ has also been on sale under $1000 from Georges combined with Sony cashback a few months ago.
