UPDATE 4TH DECEMBER

We here at Banggood have heard what you had to say, so I got in touch with the department and let them know what is what (I work on front-line sales of our 15,000+ Product Line, so I can't know everything) and we fixed the problem.

Sorry about the error on our initial description. As a thank you to you guys pointing it out, we have dropped it down to a very attractive $2.86. Trust Ozzies to call bull when they see it.

If you'd like anything else from us, especially things that you want a little bit cheaper, please let me know so I can post them on here.

Another great deal coming from Banggood!

(Most traditional halogen incandescent lamp use AC 12V)
This LED lamp generate much less heat than traditional lamp

Luminous flux: 300lm

Note:

This LED lamp CANNOT work on AC 110V or AC 220V.
This LED lamp work with all types of magnetic transformers but not all electronic transformers, because many electronic transformers require a minimum load higher than 4 watt.
So we recommend you check your fixture track and change power LED power supply if necessary.
When you find the LED lamp flickering or even go out after just a few second, that's mean your transformer is not fit.
(LED lamps provide very low loading). You must make sure that the voltage of your existing power supply does not exceed 14 Volts with the LED bulbs installed.
The easiest way is test your transformer with a multi-meter in prior.
Color:white

1 x 4W MR16 Led Down Light

I'm a bit of an LED light junkie and I have to say I am a little suspicious of a 4w LED plug in which can rival a 50w Halogen. I work for a property developer who builds high end homes and we've literally scoured the world looking for such a product, We've road tested about 10 different types in various homes over the past 2 years, currently we use a 9w GU10 plug in fitting which is around 80-90% of a 50w Halogen - cost is about $41 per fitting / bulb (trade) when we buy 1000 at a time - so at under $4 and 4w I am a little suspicious this would cut it.

Agree. "4W LED light = 50W Halogen", extremely unlikely.

      Expect disappointment.

Are these cool white or warm white? Assume warm white..

I recently ordered 12 LED from Alibaba (9W (3x3W CREE), 12V MR16, dimmable, warm 3500K light, 60degree) for 60USD delivered (this is 5$ per light).

    http://www.aliexpress.com/item/US-150-Off-US-10-Fedex-DHL-4p…

They perform reasonable well and my best cheap LEDs which I bought so far. I tried a lot with 1W, 3W,4W 6W … but found that the first LEDs which could replace a 50W Halogen was a good 9W LED (still a compromise .. but 90%). The Halogens still produce nicer light. I usually hate this cool office light. Even the warm LEDs are still cooler than the Halogens. But very usable and they are getting close now. I would recommend them … but it is still a compromise.

As the REP claims it is a replacement for a 50W.

    • Sorry, but the reps claim of 4w=50w is total rubbish. As you say 9w led is close to a 50w halgen, the 4w leds are considerably darker.

The price is cheap, but if you're after like for like, then you'll need 9+w led.
I've also had good results buying from AliExpress

    • Cheers for the link. Its got alot of good reviews will try out 4. Do they dim well?

      • +1

Dimming of these lights is ok in the top 50% of brightness. When you get lower it starts a little flickering … I would not use it as mood lights (I am not sure if I use the correct dimmer … there are two different types … I also did not exchange my transformer). The price is very reasonable for a 9W. (esp. when you buy the 12pack. Was delivered within 2-3 weeks.

@supabrudda … Sorry … my last sentence was confusing. Fully agree with you. 4W Halogen can't even be close to 50W Halogen (at least not at the moment).

No stress Wombat, I thought that's what you probably meant.
The cree led lights I got from an Aliexpress supplier are really good. The bright white is that perfect clinical lighting we like for the kitchen. (and $5.50/Globe).

The dimming function isn't smooth like a normal light, it's stepped (being led/digital that's what you'd expect, although as you say the lower light end dimming has rather large steps). Personally I'd get some test bulbs (I got a 2 pack for $11) before I bought retrofitted the house).

Same as comments above. 4W LED is definitely NOT the same as 50W halogen. You will just end up putting your halogen bulbs back if this is what you intend to use these for.

    • That's what I did.
I put the 50W halogen back after tried the 4W LED for one night stand.
      LOL…..

First there's Ainol .. and now there's Bang-good. Love it how these non-english speaking companies give themselves dirty names without realising it :)

The only ones I have found that have the output of 50W halogens are those using 10W Cree MT-G emitters. The 3x3W Cree's come close, but the MT-G's are brighter. Cost quite a bit more than $3 a piece though.

  • No deal, bogus claims, shameless advertising.
They're probably an okay light but don't promote them as something they're not.

    (throws rotten vegetables) Booo!

  • I ordered a quantity of Banggood 240V led screw in lights for around the $3-$4 mark and found them surprisingly good.
One was a spot type light with 3 leds and a flat aluminium face that gave off a lot of light and one was a round globe light labelled HG-2032 with 7 leds that I used for bedside lamps.
They came on instantly and seemed good.
I used some of the spotlight leds to replace 18w reflective fluro bulbs that had in turn replaced those thirsty Parr 150w bulbs and they gave off a bright white light that served the purpose of lighting up the backyard with a soft white light. A few weeks after installing them I noticed they flashed now and again when turned off. The lights were all switched 2-way which seemed to contribute but then the same bulbs installed inside the house did not flash. I don't understand it but an Engineer suggested the inverters in the lamps may be causing it. I tested the power use of the globes with an Arlec power measuring device which is not very accurate on small wattages and the spots used 2-4 watts and the HG-2032 globes 2-3 watts which is pretty amazing
I think the Banggood people are honest and try to please. Their website is not the best and a few times I have suggested they improve it to create a better impression so their newsletters load properly. Often delivery is slow. I first bought a few sample bulbs and then a larger number after finding them ok. The second batch took so long that I thought they had been lost in the Chinese post (almost as bad as that MrTao guy, who is hopeless but shipping from mainland China as well as using the Chinese eBay setup)

  • Hey guys,

Thanks for giving me the heads up, gave the guy in the department a good hiding. Also brought down the price as an apology.

    It will not happen again.

If you guys would like anything from our product line a bit cheaper, please let me know and if we get enough interest then I'll post it on here.

    From your mates at Banggood.
