LIFX Colour A60 1200lm E27/B22 $45 (RRP $69) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi

110

JB have some of the LIFX Colour A60 bulbs on sale. Not all time low but decent enough.

LIFX have new Matter-compatible bulbs (900 and 1600 lumens) and have confirmed that these models will not get Matter support, so presumably they're trying to clear stock.

The 1200lm are very tall while using in a lamp they peak over the top over the shade i recommend the 1000lm if using in a lamp, and is still bright enough.

Another noteworthy difference between the two models is the Beam Angle:

    • The 1000lm model has a Beam Angle of 250° - Provides a wide, near panoramic spread
    • The 1200lm model has a Beam Angle of 135° - Provides a narrower, more focused spread
  • These are great. Also had a Nanoleaf but prefer this.

I have a Lifx bulb that gets used multiple times daily and its going on 13 years now. Pretty impressed tbh.

My experience with Lifx was horrendous. Constantly dropping off of the network.

On hue now with a bridge and there is no comparison. Lots of similar experiences on reddit, beware!

I haven't seen any such complaints, and have about six LIFX lights.

Are you sure it's not your WiFi dropping out?

This issue is likely caused by your router automatically switching channels. Try manually changing the Wi-Fi channel to one with low interference or that is currently unused.

    • I had an issue many years ago with a range extender. POS.

Also if your router/switch does weird things to udp unicast/broadcast traffic you'll have problems. I.e. Like others said, if it's a cheap pos you'll have problems.

Here's a good reddit which may help: https://www.reddit.com/r/lifx/comments/h9bgn1/lifx_vlan_port…

I upgraded to a couple of ubiquity ac pro2 about 7 years ago and bulb have been rock solid since. They have also survived moving house and being reconfigured many times. I did have 2 of the first gen a60 800 lux bulbs die but they were replaced with little effort from LIFX with newer 1000lux bulbs.

Still have a few of the first gen bulbs going after almost 10 years. Not bad at all.

    • I have both hue and lifx. They both have their advantages. I like Hue's auto on at night when I come home and lifx auto changing colour throughout the day.

  • I'm a big fan of Yeelight bulbs, how do these compare? Still using my Yeelight V2 daily since 2016

  • These work with Home Assistant (once you add them to your wifi network).

    • 800 lux but got some for out the front where the housing is smaller. Hopefully fits.

      Thanks

  • $55 with sign to jb perks and $10 discount. Decent for 2 x 1000lm colour bulbs.
