Not as good as the last deal but seems not too bad given it's the "Plus" variant (RRP $339). Might be useful for those with point balances.

It depends on what kind of sound system you have. The DAC in the mini is very far from fantastic. You can connect an external DAC through Toslink I think. But it has quite a few limitations compared to the Pro.
Absolutely. I was comparing it against a Chromecast with HDMI to RCA, though.
This is not a chromecast, Its an audiophile streamer. You just want chromecast I guess you can do that but it's so basic and I haven't heard of a HDMI to RCA adapter and if it does exist it will be very low quality I bet. Chromecast audio are still overpriced for what they are. The wiim products have like a million features like streaming service integration, Spotify and tidal connect, wiim app for settings and streaming services, 192khz output for high res audio and eq and room correction to make your speakers sound the best.
Wouldn't a Chromecast with a HDMI to RCA out converter be cheaper? May not look as nice.
Or a second hand Chromecast Audio?
