Amazon Cashback: Devices 10%, Toys 6%, Books 4%, Electronics/Pets 3%, Mobile 2.5%, Video Games 1.5%, Other 0.5% @ TopCashback AU

1000

Hi everyone, and a happy Father's Day to all the dads. This month's Amazon uncapped cashback rates include some of the more popular categories. And even though 0.5% on all unlisted categories may seem a small amount, any number is better than having items track at 0%, so please enjoy it for what it is. I've included full terms & tips below for your perusal. Remember to clear your cart prior to clicking/tapping from TCB, and always generate a new click for each new transaction (for any retailer).

Thanks for your support as always 🙏
Stay safe, and enjoy 😊

Cashback rates (uncapped):

  • 10% - Amazon Devices (Echo, Fire TV, Ring Security, Kindle, etc)
  • 6% - Toys
  • 4% - Shoes, Handbags & Accessories
  • 4% - Physical Books
  • 4% - Furniture
  • 3% - Electronics
  • 3% - Cameras
  • 3% - Pet Food & Supplies
  • 2.5% - Mobile Phones & Wearable Tech
  • 1.5% - Physical Video Games
  • 0.5% - All Other Purchases (exclusions apply, see terms)

What will stop me getting my cashback:

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of products in any unlisted cashback category. Check the cashback categories table prior to purchase.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards, vouchers, Kindle Unlimited, Audible, mobile apps, Amazon Prime subscriptions & renewals, bulk orders, commercial or reseller purchases.
  • Cashback is ineligible when using any Amazon credit as partial or full payment.
  • You must empty your Amazon cart prior to clicking from TopCashback.
  • Using any codes entered manually in the 'Promo Code' field.
  • Second and subsequent Subscribe & Save orders are ineligible for cashback (only first Subscribe & Save orders in eligible categories are eligible).
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.

What else is essential:

  • Cashback is eligible if using a gift card or Amazon gift card balance as payment on an eligible category.
  • You must start with an empty cart before clicking through to the Amazon.
  • Pre-orders are eligible for cashback provided they are scheduled for shipment within 60 days of purchase, however they may not track to your account until shipped.
  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • Always return to TopCashback and click through via the pink cashback button to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.

Tips:

  • Amazon tracking typically takes 24 hours (but can take up to 7 days) to report into accounts (Amazon tracking is not instant).
  • For tracking success, ensure you disable 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, and avoid browsers such as Brave.
  • Close any additional browser tabs, and don't click away to other sites after clicking from TopCashbackAU as tracking will be lost. TopCashbackAU must be your last click (not 3-Camels etc).
  • Try our iOS/Android mobile app for improved tracking results.
  • Use our Help Centre & Contact form here for any questions or issues.

Meanwhile I’ve had every untracked transaction credited, unlike ShopBack and Cashrewards

Hi Measbinod. Not sure why you believe that's a reason not to use our services? Link below will explain the 3 different statuses. It's only been around 10 weeks since your purchase and estimated approval date is generally around 12-14 weeks for most retailers, just like all other cashback providers. Thanks :)

I think we just dreamed of cash back from TopCashback

The money that is in my bank account must also be a mirage.

      Shopback are trustworthy.

Big lols here. Rep won't even answer tags or DM's. Upsized promo rates aren't even honoured.

I regret not going with TCB for my recent MyDeal purchase, at least I know TA will respond to DM's in a timely manner and manually credit me if there's an issue.

      • +1

In fairness, I used TCB for MyDeal at 40% and had to put in a claim
Still processing that one, so we’ll see what happens

        • +1

I also put in a claim for mydeal… tcb come back days later saying there is already a tacked transaction from mydeal…. I was like I made 2 transactions (closed browser started click through again between them) been over a week no response.

        • +6

Fair enough, here's my experience with Shopback:

          • Purchased at MyDeal with Bank of Melbourne card ($40 cashback + extra 2%)
          • Doesn't even track initially
          • Put in a "Missing Cashback" request after 7 days
          • 2 weeks later, I get credited $12.50 - incorrect amount (only 3%, not the $40 cap + bank bonus)
          • Send a message via chat, get their chatbot and attach receipt
          • A team member emails me and asks for receipt again
          • They then tell me to wait another 5 weeks

If it were TCB, I would have messaged TA to investigate. I don't even message GYB anymore, as they don't answer + I'm not sure if that's a legitimate rep/if it's manned by the same people in Shopback's support team who are giving me canned responses.

          • @jyueli: Yeah I go above and beyond with recording ShopBack transactions now, GYB is DOA here

          • @jyueli: Both the original GYBs have been long gone, this could be as a result of the letting go employees a while back

The person that is manning the account hasn’t been providing the same consistent responses

            • @BargainsGrabber: Yeah, I'd heard that - that's a shame, the original GYB was really great. I noticed it started going downhill ~a year or so ago.

          • @jyueli: Sounds like my experience with shopback and mydeal.

Although by the sounds of it mydeal is garbage for tracking.

            • +2

              @dazza826:

by the sounds of it mydeal is garbage for tracking.

Yeah, I don't doubt that but at least TCB has an active, trustworthy rep - makes the follow up a lot less painless :)

              • @jyueli: Yeah that's for sure.

Had to uninstall the mydeal app as well as it has a habit of autolaunching even when stopped and this can cause its own issues.

I'll be using tcb where I can in future, plus they do match competition as well.

        • same, mine did not track. Put in a claim but still waiting for response

          • @levinlfre: Responses do take longer I find, but I haven’t had an issue with them

            • +1

@linkindan: Hi guys. Please have a read of the email you received upon submitting your claim:

Thanks for lodging your missing cashback claim for xxxxxxxxx

As long as we have all the information required we'll submit your claim to the merchant's network in our next batch. Please be aware this process can take several months but we'll be in touch as soon as we have an update.

In the meantime, you can view your claim in your account if you'd like to add any further information or close it if you feel it is no longer needed. Please note that the network may decline your claim if any of the details on it are incorrect.

For any extra information on the Missing Cashback Claim process, please visit our help section.

There's a link in the email to keep tabs on the claim. So in summary, you don't need to do anything further once lodged except be patient. We'll get back to you only if we require further information. Hope this helps :)

              • @tightarse: I’m being patient aha

I’ve had a look every now and then, still processing. Not stressed yet. Hoping to convey that feeling to others who haven’t gone through the TCB claim process before aha

                • +2

@linkindan: You'll be totally fine, trust me. And down the track if there's any issues, you know exactly where to find me 👍

                  • +1

@tightarse: Nice to know there’s a cashback rep on here whose got my back

                    • +1

@linkindan: Literally only reason I tried TCB. 😂

Also ShopBack is terrible, one of their excuses was merchant changed their backend systems since promotion day…. No cashback for u……

                • +2

@linkindan: Before TA worked for TCB, I submitted 2 untracked claims for Amazon and eBay. They were tracked and paid after about 2 months. I didn't hear from anyone in the 2 months when the claims were processing and wasn't used to the silence. This is the TCB claim process and it's normal 😀.

                  • +1

@trixieb: I remember my first time too, so nervous but kept my cool and got there in no time at all

I’m genuinely ok with the wait, just trying to help those who aren’t used to it aha

    • @Measbinod I shop at the 3 cashback companies. They all take about 3 - 4 months to pay out.

TopCashback is a newer company in Australia but is also trustworthy. You need to wait a few more weeks for the cashback.

If any issues, please PM the new rep tightarse who is very responsive and helpful.

    • +4

      Cash reward are trustworthy.

Yeh nah I don’t trust Cashrewards anymore. They recently rejected the Optus $40 cashback deal ($15 profit on the $25 SIM), and blaming that I had the following

After reviewing your account, I see that the store declined your transaction as a different marketing channel was attributed to your sale. This often happens due to:

      • Opening other web pages or browsers while shopping
      • Clicking on a banner or ad on the store's site
      • AdBlock/Antivirus removing tracking cookies
      • Using a coupon code not listed on Cashrewards

How can I have other apps open when I had used their Cashrewards app to purchase it? Cashrewards is just refusing to pay out the $40 cashback

      • +2

@BargainsGrabber Thanks for the feedback. Sorry to hear and hijack TA's post. Just saw your Optus post and you mentioned Cashrewards had manually added $40 but now rejected the cashback. No goodwill gesture either. I haven't encountered this before as my cashback had been paid when added manually. I would have expected to be paid. (T&Cs - Cashback is issued by Cashrewards, not Optus.) The difference now is there is no rep on OzB such as TA whom we know and can PM. I've emailed Cashrewards recently and had different staff replying on the same enquiry. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15245277/redir

        • +1

Further update to it, now I have to wait an additional 90 days for another update. High chance that both CashRewards and Optus aren’t going to be paying this $40 cashback

Thank you for forwarding your order confirmation, it is greatly appreciated.

I have reverted your transaction back to pending and have also submitted a query to the store for further investigation. Please note that it can take up to 90 days for the store to review the transaction. I'd like to add that the rewards will stay as a feature of your pending balance until the store has had the option to confirm the transaction.

      • Same as BargainsGrabber. I got rejected as well. I didn't use app and used website. I didn't even get another 90 days of review. Where to riot!!!

  • Issue with lack of ticket response to incorrect cashback amount
TA has DMed and offered to look into it

    • +3

Update: TA has come through and fixed the issue

    • +6

Are you sure your acct hasn't been flagged & blocked by the fraud team for having multiple accounts? You would have received notification from the outset. It's the only time members complain about not being able to withdraw, and there's always two sides to every story :)

        • I have $150.58 that I could not get it to payout. I also use cash rewards and shopback and never had issues. So i don't really what I am being exposed for when I raise my concern. If you are happy with top cash back then go ahead and use them. I just stick with cash rewards and shopback.

      • "The email failed to send to your email address.
Please try again", that's the message i got when trying to request top cashback to resend the email. Also, what is wrong with having multiple accounts? Not that I have multiple accounts. If customers use the website to make the purchase for eligible items then they should receive the cashback and payout, simple is that. I am interested to know what the other side of the story is.

        • @thangnm

Also, what is wrong with having multiple accounts?

I use all 3 cashback providers and they have their pros and cons. TopCashback seems to take the fair play policy very seriously and can detect users with multiple accounts that they deem to be unfair, as mentioned previously on OzB. Some of their offers are generous and limited to one per account/user only. The same person having multiple accounts and receiving more than the limit of one is viewed to be unfair. It's one of the reasons that members have not been able to withdraw their cashback.

As you don't have multiple accounts, it would be best for you to PM the rep tightarse with your details so it can be investigated further.

        • Hi. Feel free to turn on your messaging and shoot me your TCB details. I’ll let you know the reason/s you’re unable to withdraw. Thanks.

        • +3

@thangnm Thank you for reaching out and glad we finally got to the bottom of the issue. As I said in the PM I need to apologise for jumping the gun. The issue was certainly not multiple accounts. The issue was that your emails were bouncing and you therefore weren’t able to verify your payment details, and we weren't receiving your correspondence.

@trixieb @Lucille Bluth totally my bad on this one. I should have known better, and if only thngnam had messaging on to start with I would not have commented without first reaching out to him. Lesson learned and a little red faced right now.

Anyway just glad it's all sorted. Cheers.

          • +1

@tightarse: Thanks for resolving the issue.

            • +2

@thangnm: Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :)

            • @thangnm: @tightarse Glad to hear it's sorted :)

              @thangnm Enjoy the $150.58!

Amazon cashback sucks the days, always one category is god and then everything else is barely anything.

    • +7

Unfortunately it is what it is. I too miss the days of a flat rate, but we either abide by Amazon’s procedures or not have them at all. I’m sure you’ll agree that something is always better than nothing though.

      • You are the only CB provider that list non-zero rates (0.5% > 0.0%) for all the other categories that are always sit at 0.0% when it comes to the other two major players.

How do you guys do it?

  • +3

Happy Fathers Day to you too mate :)

    • +3

      Thank you 😊

  • Does electronics include pc parts ?

    • Unfortunately not. There’s a separate category called “Personal Computing” which for now is 0.5%.

      • No worries, thanks @tightarse

        • -1

          0.5% is pretty pathetic cashback
probably not even worth the trouble/effort.

          $100 spent get back 50 cents …

          • +1

@pinkybrain: Only real benefit of these 0.5% categories is if there's a bonus cashback that it then becomes eligible.

            • @NigelTufnel: what do you mean "if there's a bonus cashback that it then becomes eligible"?

these cashback promos main purpose is to incentivize people to buy more amazon devices (10% devices)
which then benefit amazon more by people being being lured further into amazon ecosystem

many people on this site are probably more interested in getting PC parts than more amazon devices..

Even ebay/ebay plus discount results in better deals than amazon price for PC parts (with 0.5% cashback)

              https://www.amazon.com.au/PNY-nVidia-Geforce-Overclocked-Gra…

              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/864440

this is pretty sad and wish amazon would actually be more competitive with pc parts prices

              • @pinkybrain: I mean, when there is a bonus cashback promo like this where you get an extra $ value for any eligible purchase.
So amazon might have something PC related on sale for $45. Same price as anywhere else. If it is a zero category, purchasing that wouldn't get you the $5 bonus. If it is 0.5%, you get that tiny amount of cashback + the $5 bonus. So that effectively makes the $45 item $40, so you benefit.

Of course it depends on the item though…

      • Do you know what bambulab printers falle under? I feel like personal computing for some reason?

        • This method will provide guidance, but it’s not bullet proof unfortunately. Cheers.

        • Paste the item link into 3xCamel and it shows you the category

          • +1

@twig: Please be very careful with 3xCamel as a lot of transactions are attributed to them instead of cashback sites, and therefore go untracked (and their categories are not always correct). Make sure you generate a brand new click from TCB after your search. See the tips in my post. Cheers!

          • @twig: Yeah, camels was telling me 'BISS' which was not helpful. Lol

            • @NigelTufnel: Cheers @tightarse, I usually do that stuff in another browser just to be sure but good that you made it clear

@NigelTufnel lol wtf yeah that makes no sense

  • TA do i get cashback for this item:
    Philips HueWA 90mm Down Lt W/BT (4 Pack) https://amzn.asia/d/2Pm5KDM

    • +1

Hey buddy. Sorry, I’m not in front of my PC right now, and will be offline for most of the day. See my response here to find the category. All the best :)

  • Was hoping for garden category to be upsized this fathers day :’(

  • This thread got me laughing.

    Happy Fathers Day!

    • 😊

  • When does this end?

    • +1

At this stage, Sept 30 but please always check on TCB as rates and categories can change at any time. Thanks.

      • Thanks @tightarse! Any chance for another 12% Aliexpress CB for choice day?

  • Great work. Toys, books, camera and electronics rarely get upsized cashback. I might purchase a book or 2 this time.

  • So Amazon have quietly increased the retail price of the 4K Firestick from $79 to $99 now

  • I will probably wait for gift card challenges for Amazon credits, in which I'm not urgent to buy something.

  • What happens with a preorder of a book - will it track at the 4% rate when the order eventually goes through, or at the then-current rate, or not at all?

    • Hi. It's in the OP. 3rd dot point under "What else is essential:"

Pre-orders are eligible for cashback provided they are scheduled for shipment within 60 days of purchase, however they may not track to your account until shipped.

And yes, you get whatever the cashback rate is on the day you order it. Hope this helps.

      • I searched "preorder" without the hyphen so overlooked that line - but thanks for clearing up the missing part about which rate you get :)

        • No worries at all. Ask away any time 👍

  • Hi @tightarse so I’ve been a big user of shopback and Cashrewards. Thought to try topcashback but it turned out to be a massive fail.

During Amazon prime day I had multiple options of cashback but I chose topcashback. I purchased a TV and only 1% tracked even though I clicked through the link and have screenshots to prove it. I couldn’t upload screenshots during the claim and the claim was rejected after a very long time. Can you assist?

    Order 249-9164327-7353464

As I had multiple options I’ve missed out on $20-$30 which is 5% of the purchase price so a decent amount for an ozbargainer. Don’t want to have to give up on this and tell people here about my negative experience

    • Hi. Not sure why you didn't just PM me, but anyway why exactly is a massive fail? 1% is what you should get for a TV purchase as it falls under the "Electronics" category. See our rates here for Prime Day, and please note we had the best rates for "Electronics" that day too. Had you used other providers, you would have received even less cashback on your purchase. Look forward to hearing back. Thanks.

      • Prime day had 5% for electronics. There’s a post on it too https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/857752

        • Thanks. You didn't specify which day you purchased as the rates & categories changed every day of the 6 day event. But note no matter which provider you chose, the reported category would have been the same as all three providers had the same eligibility across the 6 days.

However it seems I was incorrect in my initial response as checking previous sales, it appears Amazon classifies TVs as "Home Entertainment" rather than "Electronics" (see SB's tier as proof). So had you purchased through SB it too would have tracked at 1% based on your linked post :)

Note that categories and the way they're applied are a function of Amazon, and not TopCashback (or anyone else for that matter). If you'd like to discuss this further, feel free to take this up offline via PM. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi @tightarse

It’s currently impossible for me to checkout on Amazon using TopCashback.
When I click Proceed To Checkout, I get blocked with an error every time:

There was an internal error in our system. We logged the problem and will investigate it later. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

The issue does not happen using Cashrewards or using Amazon by itself. I've tried multiple times using all the options now, and it's only TCB doing this.

    • Apple Computer
    • Safari Browser
    • I have already tried clearing cache / cookies

Are you able to report this issue please? I've tried 4-5 times now.. Thanks :)

    • Hi. A quick Google search shows the error message comes from Amazon. Can you please try installing Chrome to eliminate a Safari browser issue. Cheers.

      • Yep, the same issue is on Chrome

Yes, it’s an Amazon message, but it only appears when using Topcashback. I don't get the error, unless using TCB.
I did Google search before commenting, I couldn’t find anything of relevance to the issue sorry.

        • +1

Seems to be an Amazon issue for me. I get the same message checking out on Amazon directly (no cashback sites) using Chrome and Incognito on laptop. Same message on Amazon via TopCashback.

Message: There was an internal error in our system. We logged the problem and will investigate it later. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

          • @trixieb: Thanks for the comment trixieb

I've tried checking out almost 15 times now, with or without TCB / Cashrewards, and it's only been using TCB when it happens. I was screen recording when doing all options as well. Not sure what's at fault…

Edit: The issue is now present directly using chrome, so not TCB specific. I've been trying for well over an hour, and it seems to be consistently every time now…

            • +1

@OutOfTime: Somewhat of a relief to know it's not TCB related. Thanks both!

              • @tightarse: Thanks for help TA! Also glad it's not just TCB.

The first 40 or so minutes, it was only affecting TCB for me strangely. I checked other CB companies before commenting, so not sure why it wasn't widespread originally…

                Sorry for the inconvenience

                • +1

@OutOfTime: No inconvenience at all. Good luck with it though!
