Decision to Leave & More Blu-Ray Movies $7.98 Each + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

100

Many great titles here, sort of the same deal as the one posted earlier in the month, but now 20% off.

There are some genuinely great and obscure titles at significant discounts that don't come up too often

Some off the top of my head:
Broker
Triangle of Sadness
Beyond the Mat
Shadow
How To Blow Up a Pipeline
Mister Organ
Out of Africa
Super Mario Bros. (original live action version)
Whale Rider

I made the decision to leave Blu-ray years ago, in favour of streaming and the bay.

    I'll see myself out.

If you download movies from pirate sites then you didn’t ditch Blu-ray at all, because many of the files are rips from 1080 Blu-rays and 4K Blu-rays… And if these 2 physical media disc formats no longer existed, then neither would the highest picture and audio quality rips taken from BD/4KBD on pirate sites, all that would be available is inferior quality from streaming service platforms.

That's great, thanks for letting us know.

  • Haven't seen decision to leave.
What is it similar to movie wise?
I'm guessing since this is the title movie you would rate it highly?

Not an all time classic IMO, but still very good. Very hitchcockian vibes as well.

Thanks to the both of the response, really appreciate it.

    • It's just a romance drama with slow burn. The thing I would watch on SBS if I got nothing else to watch.

    • Have you seen any other Park Chan Wook films? They're all great, some just greater than others. It's available on 4K from overseas, I think I paid around $30 during Prime Day.

It's a super detailed and tense crime thriller. Often gets compared to Vertigo which is fair imo, but the plots aren't related so much.

Decision to Leave is the most fun I've had exploring a movie beyond it's central plot (if that makes sense). Very intentional use of cinematography, blocking, mise en scene, symbols and colours that greatly enhance the core themes if you're willing to dedicate the time to looking for them.

        That's awesome thanks heaps.
I'll see if I can get it digitally. I normally watch Korean movies and dramas with my wife. But hadn't seen this before. So I was intrigued.
You probably remember me mentioning ballerina in the parasite deal you posted. We are always looking for a good Korean movie.
