Best review on Amazon goes to Macka

"Perfect fit for Aussie 375ml beer cans and much better at holding temp than regular neoprene stubby coolers.
A little test I did at ambient temp of 22.℃ :

Product 0 Min 15 min 45 min 60 min Price I paid $ AUD.

Thermos 4.8℃ 6.2℃ 8℃ 8.8℃ $11.00

Cold dog brand 4.8℃ 6.4℃ 10.2℃ 11.5℃ $39.99

Neoprene cooler 4.8℃ 9.2℃ 13.3℃ 16.6℃ $4.00-$6.00

The Husky is more versatile and will take more sized beer cans and glass stubbies but to do this creates air gap which is probably why not as good temps as the "fits like a glove" for aussie 375ml beer cans with the Thermos. The thermos has the air gap with 330ml stubbies. If your like me and drink your beer in less than 15 min they all do the job. To make sure the temps were accurate I used a food thermometer and backed up with the human taste test as my mouth is calibrated to within 0.2℃.

In order to ensure scientific accuracy, I had to repeat the experiment many times to average out results and this was a very expensive and dangerous experiment. Normally this is where we would put in the warning "Do not try this at home" but "meh"! Do not try this experiment whilst driving."

    Cheap. Good deal.

  • Says capacity 355ml, does the rest of the can just sit out the top?

    • +1

      One of the reviews says:

Although it's listed as fitting 355ml cans, this perfectly fits the Australian 375ml cans (with about 2cm of the can protruding at the top). The cans are easy to insert and remove - you don't need a lot of hand strength here, and don't need to crush the can to get it out.

      • Thanks, I bought like 5, seems a good gift for the father nd nieces nd nephews :)

Keeps drinks cold for up to 10 hours

How does it keep anything cold for 10 hours… without a lid?

    • Colder stuff is denser, this acts as a bowl preventing leaking from sides and bottom. Still leaks from top but much slower than if not using one.

Similar to a chest freezer, but that one HAS a lid

      • Cans are still aluminium, which is a fantastic heat conductor. Pretty sure that 10 hour figure is pulled out of some marketing persons ass.

        • +1

Oh yeah for sure, their definition for cold is probably anything below on an average overcast winter day, with no direct sunlight, most of the good coldness is gonna be gone after 2 hours, still good enough for most people.

Was just a general how can this keep things colder without a lid explanation.

    • I had one of these, would say it keeps it "drinkable" for about 2 hours.

I got one of these half price ($5) at Aldi years ago… still going strong. Definitely the best can insulator I have.

  • I got can/bottle thermos coolers/holders from Kmart last year at $2.5 each, similar design.

  • I have two of these. they are pretty good, i use them daily. the rubber does go after about 6 months though.

    • +1

I have a thermos branded stubby which should be this unit, the top is silicon and I just chuck it in the dishwasher. Still looks brand new after a few years.

    • Where does it go? 🤔

      • it goes floppy

  • Checked my local big W, was 9$ but got one anyway

  • Bugger, these are the best stubby holders bar none. Pray for a restock! 🙏

    • Agreed.
