CPU brand is brand new and genuine. CPU manufacturing site is randomly sent and cannot be specified (China Malaysia)
Dunno if that's sarcasm or not, but I bought one from this store. It's legit.
So why is it so cheap?
It's an OEM - or 'tray' - CPU originally intended for pre-builts, so warranty is local only.
Guessing they over-ordered in China and need to clear, so cutting deeper into margins than any local seller might.
If it were selling at $110 or something, then you would be concerned.
ATL for a retail 5700X3D here is about $315, then with gift cards and stacks you could get it to $260ish, so it's not otherworldly.
They buy OEM chips in high volume and resell them. There's no box, cooler, etc and the volume purchases likely give them a hefty discount.
Aliexpress is more reliable than Amazon lol.
Between mixed stock, being able to change the listed item, etc, Amazon is still a bit of a hotbed for scams. I don't buy anything unless it's sold by and shipped by amazon, because then at least the return is easy. Good luck trying that on Aliexpress though.
