Despite coming from the US, this seems to be a very good deal on a brilliant mid range B650 board that has PCI5 and robust power delivery.

Seems you be out of stock in most stores in Australia. You can also get the board for US$179.99 + postage/taxes ($219.92USD -> $322AUD) direct from the Amazon US site and if you have a no transaction fee credit card it might be marginally cheaper.

Board is very well reviewed including on Hardware Unboxed.

Just hoping this might help someone with a new build.

Not to be confused with the older ASRock B650E Steel Legend WiFi which is more expensive but has less features.

I was going to buy this board at centercom for $330 but i ended up going for a gigabyte b650m aorus elite ax ice.

It boots into windows with a Ryzen 7600 using 6000Mhz CL30.36.36.96 1.35v Gskill Z5 Neo ram in 12 seconds and i didnt need to do anything in bios apart from use the expo profile..

I dont want to use contex restore on a MSI or ASrock boards to fix slow boot times when enabling XMP or EXPO.

So i guess gigabyte is the only option for me
Anyways.. PC is rock solid stable.. just in windows the PC feels much faster and idle/load power draw is the same as my MSI B550, Ryzen 5700X, 3600 CL16 PC

looks like a good choice. im not 100% sure what cpu to get yet but the mobo you've mentioned ticks 95% of all my boxes

Also the thing people dont understand is that the gigabyte b650m aorus elite ax ice board are essentially the V3.0 boards of the original gigabyte b650m aorus elite ax so all the issues including any coil win has been fixed. It also comes with awesome Wifi :)

I'm not board about that sexy mother

  • Genuine question here. Why would you consider this B650 board when you can get an X670 boards for a similar price? E.g. https://www.umart.com.au/product/gigabyte-x670-gaming-x-ax-v…

    Am I missing something?

More features/better quality boards, chipset isn't everything in a motherboard.

A few things. The Gigabyte doesn't have PCI 5.0 slot (only PCI 4.0), older audio codec, slightly weaker VRMs. Seems a solid MB for the price.

  • I have a b550m steel legend

and the ram compatibility or expeirnce has been ass it doesn't run xmp.

brought a new kit which seems to work but still i feel the ram is bottlenecking the system .

going to buy a new b550 series motherboard i reckon.

my old pc had a z370m gigabyte mobo which ran everything fine!

    • No offence, but I'd look to HWunboxed or similar reviews prior to taking your advice based on experience with a previous generation chipset.

      • just stating my personal experience.

i don't play to buy asrock steel legend series in the future though.

        unfortunately.

        • Cool… that's your loss if you;re looking for a b650 board as this one ticks almost every box and is consistently recommended by reviewers alongside a string of Asrock boards at almost every price point for this generation.

          Take a look here:

          • @nitens: alright .

well i hope they fixed whatever issues i have w the b550m steel legend.

i was really lookin forward to getting one as i saw that it was decent board w decent budget price.

            I'm not lookin for anything am5 for a while though I reckon…

Hope that whoever gets it has no issues w it tho!

    • Have the same issue with my B450 & GSkill memory. Just does not like XMP in this board even though the memory is compatible. So running it with it switched off.

      • Yeah, I saw some video. B450M steel legend some guy made a tutorial for the supposed fix.

It wasn't even a fix it was just accept the mothebroard cannot run xmp and run at lower speed. so stupid lmao.

  • Beware long delivery times on this item. I ordered this on the 8/8 for the same price and it only just shipped today with an ETA of 13/9.

If you're in a hurry, look elsewhere. This was the only source I could find this well reviewed board at a sensible price.

  • THough the price has gone up to $343 on the Au Amazon site, you can get it for $219.92USD posted/taxes which works out to $322AUD
