They know most of the buyers of this slop are single blokes… There's only so many laxatives to go around.
I learned about this in econ 101. They call it price discrimination. Pretty much you end up maximising profits by offering different prices to different groups of consumers. I.e. some people will walz in to the shop and are happy to pay $80 for 4x boxes for each member of their family, while others are extremely "value conscious" (the whole of ozbargain!) and will only buy when they feel they're getting a good deal. The $80 crowd would buy at the discounted price, but why even offer it to them, when they're happy paying so much?

Merely having the app/checking their emails etc renders you a value buyer/cheapskate :P
It pains me when I see customers buying @ McDonalds or KFC and not using the app to avail of promos… but I guess some people love throwing away money.

Last time KFC did a great deal, my local one got absolutely slammed. 30 minutes wait or so. The young Aussie kids did a great job under pressure, but overall it's not nice waiting for fast food!

Damn you're right! Their pepper mayo is fantastic but not allowed on this deal, you can't even add bacon and cheese despite willing to pay for it. Without these customisations I don't think this deal is worth it anymore.

Does anybody have any praxis for maximising targeted deal opportunities? I guess I am thinking of trying to spin up some old phones with more dummy accounts but if there's a way that involves less pissfarting would love to hear.

Yup, but this isn't in it. The secret menu is more about trying to get things picked up on facebook/7 News, not actual deals these days.
Still works the same way, go to the menu and pull down (like refreshing on browser) for 11 seconds. There's a "chipster" burger (they put chips in a burger! Crazy!) and getting their doughnut balls with a chocolate mousse.

interesting how they exclude a drink so youd need to bring your own drink or pay their drink prices, seem to be adopting the HJ model of meal without drink in hope of upselling the drink.
