I bought this mouse from a deal like a year or 2 a go for less than this, incredible mouse, battery still going from 1x AA duracell

    • how offen you change the battery?

      • Not sure, it's on battery saver in the Logitech app, been about..20 months? i dunno, battery still says its good

        • +5

20 months, i am using Razer Baslisk X Hyperspeed, i need to change battery every 20 days.!!

          • @CDG: Pretty sure I last a fortnight if not more on AAA rechargeable ni-cads for G305 on high performance mode. So I have a stash of about 4+ eneloops and just cycle through.

          • @CDG: I had a Razer Ourobouros (or however you spell it) and the battery life was genuinely appalling, I was getting maybe a week out of it.

Last deal $25 was so good price

      This is a better mouse.

      • Which?

        • +2

My bad. Im referring to the Orochi v2 is a better mouse.

          • @KaTst3R: Cheers.

            • +3

@iDroid: Just a heads up if you choose the Orochi V2, if you have anything using the 2.4GHz frequency around your setup, consider them unusable if you use Razer's Hyperspeed dongle.

              • @WinterStar: So no bluetooth will work if your using the dongle??

                • +1

@gruffjaguar: Pretty much, yeah. I returned mine for that exact reason, at the time I only had 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and it literally made it go from 20mbps to 10kbps, my earbuds were also losing connection despite being really close to each other and my laptop.

I contacted Razer about it and they told me that's how their technology works so it can't be fixed. From my testing, I found that their dongle hijacks pretty much all the available channels to achieve their 'Hyperspeed'. I moved to Logitech's Lightspeed series and have had no issues so it's definitely a Razer issue.

      • What makes it worth $10 more?
Youve mention its lighter, supports Bluetooth

        • Bluetooth support if that is something you need

      • Does Razer still push their app which requires sign up before basic mouse features work correctly? I have an 2013 Razer Deathadder mouse, and the DPI settings don't work correctly unless you install the app, sign up and log in and set up a custom profile otherwise the mouse is way to fast on even the slowest setting. Never been interested in their stuff since.

        • You dont need Synapse to change DPI. But it only gives you the basic step up, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 if i recall correctly. You will need Synapse if you want anything custom or change the hyperpolling frequency.

Bought one about a year ago for $49, been looking for a second. Holding out for sub $50. Missed the Mobileciti deal and almost got sucked into the Chinese counterfeits. Saved by an Ozb mod! Had to advise eBay "customer service" that I'd be reporting their laxity to the new Au CEO before they agreed to cancel my purchase (they have a very clear policy on fakes but do sfa to enforce it),

  • +2

There are so many fakes of these on eBay etc. got to be careful

    • anyone bought one of the fake ones? whats the difference?

      • +2

        fake ones? whats the difference?

        fake

        • So fake fake?

      • +2

Regular slow cheap garbage wireless mouse in the plastic shell of this mouse.

      • As a minimum doesn't work with Logitech GHub. You have a mouse without the functionality of a genuine G304/5 and possibly without the refinements. google will turn up the full story.

      • I bought 2. The plastic is super cheap quality.

They don't work with Logitech software, so you can't change DPI or button assignments or anything. They show up as Sharktoon devices.

The first ebay seller was a super quick refund, no questions asked. I assume he knew that it was just the cost of business for counterfeits.

2nd seller, told me before the I placed the order, that it was genuine. She said that it was an old store stock from her shop that she couldn't sell in Perth WA. The mouse I got was clearly a drop shipped item from China, so it took longer than I expected from WA. It was a fake. It took a bit of work but got my money back.

3rd seller wouldn't even bother replying when I asked if the item was legit.

The fakes I got, I never bothered to use them, so I have no idea if they even function as a mouse.

  • i had mine for 30ish like 5 yrs ago and what a great little mouse.

however, i think it's just a meh price with so much competitions from the chinese brands nowadays.

    • I like the Redragons

      • Max polling rate of 250Hz :(

Vxe Dragonfly R1 Pro? Attack shark x3?

  • +1

Too heavy. Built-in batteries are the way to go.

    • +3

Some users use AAA to AA converter to reduce weight.

      • +1

You can roll up a tiny ball of al foil too. I use the spring out of an old remote to bridge the connection.

  • +2

Sorry this is a horrible price…..

    • Camel says otherwise.

      • despite what it says…this can be had for ~$30

        • where

        • +1

The fake can, and for even less. Read my comment above. The only way to be sure is to buy from a highly reputable source.

Ditto applies to fake car parts, spark plugs, brand name electronic products… you name it. Googling "fake <your product>" might be a shock.

  • 10/10 mouse IMO.

  • Does this support Bluetooth?

    • +1

No. It uses the included dongle.

      • thanks, no good for me tho :(
i will be sticking to my Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed for now

  • +2

I have this mouse and my sister has the Razer Orochi V2. The Orochi is a lighter mouse and supports Bluetooth. I prefer the Orochi.

  • great mouse, but not great price IMO
probably good to wait for a deal for $40 or below if you dont need it urgently

  • +3

I got jb to pricematch and with my $10 coupon brings it down to $44.

  • +1

Thanks, got one for my son. Turns out he's still using a little M337

  • When will we see around $30 again?

  • Unequivocally the best mouse I've ever had, I have three of these for various setups. A single AA lasts months, cannot speak highly enough for this - especially at this price!

    • +1

Mine has been saying it has low batteries for the last 6 months. Still haven't changed it 20% left according to the notification.

      • 🔋🔋🔋🏆🏆🏆

  • +1

Buy an MCHOSE G3 Pro if you like this shape, far better mouse that is a 1:1 clone shape wise to the G305 and way lighter

    • any recs where to get it?

  • I've gone though 3 of these. They always end up with double clicking issues (or it would 'unclick' while the button is still depressed). I even broke out a soldering iron and replaced the microswitches on one before I gave up.

I switched to a Razer Orochi. I really hope it doesn't suffer the same shit quality switches.

    • I had to replace my M705 for the same reason.

    • +1

G305 uses the Chinese Omron switches which are the cheap option and only last 10 million clicks. The Orochi uses custom Kailh GM 4.0 switches which are rated for 60 million clicks. So basically in the end both mouses will end up double clicking at some point, you want a mouse that doesn't double click? You'll need to look into mouses that use optical mouse switches instead.

      • They always seemed to die within 6-12 months for me. Just daily work, I don't game much if at all. Other mice have lasted me years and with heavier use.

Good to note about the kailh switches, will see how go.

  • Have used this mouse for 5 years (w/ no double clicks). Bought many other mice in that span of time, but always find myself coming back to this one. I have probably changed the batteries ~3 times in the 5 years I've had it (averaging out to 2h usage a day over that span of time). Would definitely recommend it.

Definitely not the lightest mouse, but it feels very sturdy and is the perfect shape IMO. Obviously shape is subjective but here are my reasons why:
    - I am not a fan of the curved sides on mice like the Orochi v2,
    - the hump being too forward on mice like the Zaopin Z1 Pro, Fantech Aria etc. (I get that this is part of the 'egg' style, but again, my personal preference)

I picked up this for $30 or so, not sure if this is better, but there are some good mice deals out there

  • Went with the Razer Deathadder V2 X Hyperspeed instead ($55.47)

I really needed the bluetooth support.

But no doubt, the G305 is one of the OG Goats for a reason. Old reliable for almost a decade.

    • For competitive gaming BT isn't the fastest among them all. But ofcourse ymmv depending on what games you play.

  • i miss $30 G300s wired

  • This is a very good quick response and reliable mouse! Had it for 3 years. Just needs clear line of sight to the receiver.

  • excellent mouse, but abit creaky with the top after a year of use. Won't bother most people, but once I noticed the creak you can't unnotice it.

  • Can anyone recommend the 'equivilant' logitech wireless keyboard to go with it ? The G915 TKL or Pro X60 TKL seem overkill…

    • +1

I got the G613, it seems to work fine.
