Thanks OP. I've had an eye the on meater thermometer for years but couldn't justify the $100+ price tag, so I stuck with my inkbird wired 4 probe unit which works perfectly fine.
Pulled the trigger on this because I like to waste money on things I don't need

    • We share the same MO. Hello friend

    • ozb has programmed you well…

I have this product. It's Bluetooth only. I find that it is very flakey

    • Doesn't really meat your standards?

      • 🤣

Quite a few comments on Amazon saying disconnection issue.

Any one has this one please share your thoughts?

its a bit janky… its alright if you are using it in your kitchen.. can't forget that it is bluetooth, so range is kind of average s well

    • Yep, I have one. I'm not sure what the issue is but I do keep the case pretty close to the probe (I think it needs to be within 2m or something) but somehow it still disconnects annoyingly. I've never had connection issues with the wired Inkbird 6xs.

Like any other Ozbargainer, I buy stuff I don't really need when it's on special. Bought this one during the Prime day special.

  • I wonder what the long term life of the battery is, considering you are basically cooking it every time you use the product.

  • Buy a meater or meat stick.
They are the 2 best. It's an expensive investment might as well spend a bit extra and get something reliable

    • Yeah I know the Meater is much better but damn cost almost 3 times the price.

I mainly use in the oven and pretty much it. Think the Bluetooth still ok?

      • They are currently on sale for 20% off

This is the cheapest delivered for the meater plus @$153.10 with code ggafter10

      • Works well for me, I use it for the air fryer and the bbq. It's much more reliable than my armeator one. I usually set the target temp and an early alarm of 20 degrees before target as a warning for me to flip my meat if it's a small roast.

For best results, stick the probe in and keep the case less than 1m from the probe. Your phone is connecting to the case and the probe connects to the case as well. I find that whilst your phone can be 15-20m from the case in a direct line of sight situation, the distance between the probe and the case is only 1-2m depending on obstructions.

  • Thanks guys.
Order 2 to try LOL. Was about to buy just 1 but I believed this is the cheapest ever according to Camel and I need 2.

  • Was 50% and now reverted to a 40% discount or am I missing something?

    • I guess you missed the boat

  • the problem is how often do you toast the probes? ai assume it's a throw away job when you do.

I trash my IBT-2X probes every year or so, but I get 2 newbies for under $15

    • If toasting probes is an issue, have you looked into the armeator one? Pops up on sale cheaper than this. You lose the ambient temp sensor and instead you get a ceramic nub that is rated to handle 500C. It's survived many flare ups on my bbq.
