    • Thanks for the info, my gen 1 works fine with landscape mode. Just about to buy 2 gen 2, changed my mind.

      • No worries. It's still a decent deal. I don't always do landscape charging. Maybe when I am plugged in using earphones and wanting to charge but its worth noting. Gen 1 looks better and more simpplistic tbh

  • Why this instead of one of the many wireless charger stands available on Aliexpress? My devices are Qi (not Pixel).

    • +1

I could be wrong but with previous pixel models, the limited the charging rate for non google wireless chargers to protect the battery.

    • +1

They have a fair bit of smarts to throttle charging and thus heat, fan noise and battery wear depending on how long it predicts you will be leaving it on charge for.

  • +2

i get this issue daily with it: orange light flashing and can't charge until i re-plug the cable. Otherwise it's fine as a charger

    • This could be worth the extra and great for travel, $52.
Limited-time deal: Anker USB C Charger, 543 Charger (65W II), PIQ 3.0 & GaN 4-Port Slim Fast Wall Charger, with Dual USB C Ports (45W Max), for MacBook, USB C Laptops, iPad Pro, iPhone and More https://amzn.asia/d/9O4C6XM

PS.anyone know of any good cheap tuya/google home compatible motion sensors? Good to know if someone is in ya crib.

      • +1

The Anker 735 is IMHO an even better travel charger, and its cheaper too. The 543 maxes out at 45W on a single port, so you can't change a MacBook Pro or most Windows laptops. But the 735 can output 65W on the top USB C port.

        • That's pretty good, I got the 323 (33w for $19, will do). People seem to like trickle charging but I like to top it up fast instead of on and off a wireless 20x a day.

May get one sometime but 45w better for just the phone, powerbank good for travel too.

          • @G-rig: Yeah I got that a year ago for $18. Compact enough & travel friendly. Can't comment on the quality of components used inside but it does get warm quite significantly compared to my Apple branded chargers. Nice to have a spare usb-A port. Handy if you have the older iphone lightning cables with usb-A on the end.
Lets see how long it will last.

            • @milanoxpress: Yep can never have enough, just annoying when they always upgrade the power of the phones, those 18w ones are just sitting around..

          • @G-rig: I only take my 735 charger and 737 powerbank when traveling. 735 charges everything, including the 24K power bank and my Windows notebook, in under 1.5 hours. The size is quite compact for a 65W charger, especially the plug footprint, which means it doesn’t interfere with other adapters or plugs plugged into nearby sockets which isn’t the case with most high power integrated chargers.

As for trickle charging, some phones like the new Pixels that support adaptive charging trickle charges even when plugged into powerful chargers depending on your charging habits, so having a fast charger isn't a disadvantage anymore even if you want to trickle charge.

            • @opt: Yeah agree mate I think the 735 is a pretty good price may as well cop. I got the Aldi 65w powerbank so it would be heaps of juice with that combo. The 323 is still handy as well. Don't really use the 18w for pixels now.

True, trickle over night with adaptive and the fastest PD charging otherwise.

just cancelled notice that it only charges iPhone at 6.6w…that's painfully slow. Good if you have an android though

    https://www.androidauthority.com/google-pixel-stand-review-2…

    • +1

Yeah 6.6W for iPhone kills this deal for me.
Good for anyone with a Galaxy or Pixel.

  • This is the same one Optus had a sale on last year right? for the same price or is this different?

    • +1

      Same.

      • ok, i still have a couple from that deal that i havent used yet, just have to find them :( .

  • This charger is quite nice. Slightly noisy when the fan ramps up, but it is quite fast at charging.

I've gone through two of these now. Each time, the power brick has died. Works with a non-Google brick, so all good.

    • Same experience here x 2 with the power brick. Just used a different brand power source.

No problem with the stand itself, and have had 2 running since their release in 2021.

      Ordered another 2 today.

    • Same my power brick died after one week. Sad, tried calling google customer service and they were Terrible. Hung up on the phone

    • My power adapter also died within a few days.

      • Junk lol
Just get a quality charging brick or adapter

I suspect like me they have Google store credit and want to use it before it expires. I have 50ish dollars of credit so I'm only paying $10 for this. The credit runs out for me in December and there are no other products I need soon from Google.

Pixel Stand allows for wireless charging speeds up to:

Device Google Pixel Stand 2 Google Pixel Stand 1
    Pixel 8a 7.5W 7.5W
    Pixel 8 18W 10W
    Pixel 8 Pro 23W 10W
    Pixel Fold 7.5W 7.5W
    Pixel 7a 7.5W 7.5W
    Pixel 7 Pro 23W 10W
    Pixel 7 20W 10W
    Pixel 6 Pro 23W 10W
    Pixel 6 21W 10W
    Pixel 3/3 XL, Pixel 4/4 XL, or Pixel 5 10W 10W
    Other Qi-compatible devices 15W 5W

    • Cool so I guess I'll stick with my 5 year old $25 Kmart jobby that does 10W

  • I've got a case on my Pixel 7 pro that has a Carmount magnet attached to it (at the very bottom), wondering if this charger will still work or if it has trouble with the magnet?

    • Nope those metal things block wireless charging.
I use the same thing in the car and just with a normal case but depending how often you drive just take it out. Put it in between the case and the phone.

Otherwise you want a mag safe Case.

      • I've actually been able to place the magnet sideways at the very bottom of my case and it still works on my round anker wireless charger. (had to place it at the very bottom, a lot of trial and error)

        • Yeah no doubt, just not stable and may fall down.

  • Assuming this works for iPhone 13 pro max?

  • +1

Fast delivery got it after 1 day like Amazon

  • I just bought this last week…

    • Reach out to them through the price match request on their website and they will refund you the difference.

      • I got it from Officeworks unfortunately.

        • Just but another and return the original. Oldest trick in the book.

          • @G-rig: It's already out of box

          • @G-rig: Correction: I meant Harvey Norman, not Officeworks.

            • @dongltron: Yeah so return the new one to HN.
How much are we stressing over?
Maybe don't worry and move on hey..

              • @G-rig: I mean, it's $60. Doesn't matter, box is gone. Binned. Ya live ya learn.

                • @dongltron: Too much effort all that anyway sometimes.

                • @dongltron: You don't need the original box. You buy this for half price from Google and bring that very unit unopened to HN for change of mind return.

                  • @Azro: HN would want to see the receipt.

                    • @G-rig: Where is the receipt? In the thrown box?

  • My pixel 8 pro feels like it slowed down this week all of a sudden laggy.

    Is Google doing an apple?????

    • To make you buy a new one, haha.
Just clear all the apps and uninstall crap you don't use.
Sounds like you can afford a new one!

      PS. My 8 Stil fine

  • Anyone else finding these things don't work with the pixel 9 pro xl in a MagSafe case?

    • Yep. Have to remove the case. Bogus

  • +1

Nice, just bought one with 10% discount code.

  • -1

Better to get a new charger to suit pixel 9 series - this charger won't charge at full speed

    • Yep, it's a gimmick like most accessories.
I just got one of the delivered:

Limited-time deal: Anker USB C Charger, 735 Charger (Nano II 65W), PPS 3-Port Fast Compact Wall Charger for MacBook Pro/Air, iPad Pro, Galaxy S24/S23, Dell XPS 13, Note 20/10+, iPhone 15/Pro Max, Steam Deck, and More https://amzn.asia/d/3OPB3kW

    • +3

Mine is charging Pixel 9 phone at 23W or above (checked using Ampere app). Given its advertised to charge at 23W only, all good for me. If you are comparing and expecting to get same performance as wired charger, that won't happen.

  • I just received this. I wish I had known it doesn't work with the phone placed horizontally.

    • I'm pretty sure you can send it back for free. Contact Google and find out.

      • They turning away trade in phones, ridiculous and fk em.

      • Can you confirm it works horizontally? I've seen others say it doesn't.
