  1. Set up an Indian Apple ID using your AU mobile number to verify.

  2. Login into an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, using an Indian Apple ID by going to settings > Your name > Media and purchases.

  3. Buy Apple gift cards from Amazon India using your AU amazon account. Enter an Indian address (make sure indian address is selected) and use an international fee free card. Then load gift cards to your Apple ID.

  4. Open up NBA app and it will give you a prompt to subscribe with Indian pricing, without even logging into an account. You can also login into your existing NBA account/create a new NBA account before subscribing, if you prefer to use it on other devices.

  5. Choose a plan of your liking

      I have the Turkish iOS nba league pass premium set up last year. It says on the subscription page that my renewal is 599.99, that’s about 26-27 dollars.

      I have bought 600 lira worth of Turkish Apple gift card and see if it will just deduct the money from my Apple account and continue the subscription

      inb4 anyone asks again: You don't need to connect to a VPN to watch.

      But hopefully someone who has previously had membership can confirm.

      Membership should link to your NBA profile, if you login before signing up and then you can log in on any device.

      You don't need a VPN. I just did this process this arvo. I can confirm this works. Tried creating the indian apple id on the computer, but that did not work. Had to create it on my iphone, which then let me complete the account creation. Everything else worked as described.

    In the past India has been the cheapest but also required a VPN to watch. Other countries only VPN needed at sign up. Your Milage may vary

      Not anymore, you will be able to get to the payment page but the card will fail. I have tried with multiple cards, multiple VPNS and multiple regions with no luck.

      Would always get one of two errors
      "Uh-oh, something went wrong" or "we can't process your transaction at this time, please try a new card or contact your financial institution"

        Incredible how they would rather block someone paying. I've happily paid $30-$50 for a pass in the past. If they want to make it difficult for me to pay a price I deem reasonable, which other countries can enjoy, then I have no choice but to raise my mast and sail the high seas.

          The alternative is they stop offering regional pricing and people from those countries miss out entirely. If you want Turkish pricing, move over there and take home 15x less per year.

    I was using the Algerian VPN method and got the Aussie renewal yesterday for $170~. Stuff that.
    Has anyone done this and confirmed it's actually working and can sign in to their account and watch games whilst NOT connected to VPN?
    I've been watching games for years though my Nvidia Shield. Don't want to fart around with VPN's being on when watching

      NBA league pass is only for the men's games, the WBNA have their own league pass. You can go back and watch past games of the season using NBA league pass.

      I can confirm this works. Tried creating the indian apple id on the computer, but that did not work. Had to create it on my iphone, which then let me complete the account creation. Paid for the indian apple gift card using my Wise digital credit card. Did that part on my computer. Everything else worked as described.

    Ok just received an email yesterday (12/09) from Apple regarding to the NBA subscription renewal. The cost is still 599 Turkish Lira/Year. I haven’t top up my Turkish Apple account yet…

    The renewal date is for 12/10 btw.

    I've just managed to sign up through Turkey. It was a process…
    For the past few years I've just let it renew at the Aus price but not this time.
    Firstly tried the Google Pay method. Set up a Turkey GPay profile, connected to Turkey VPN but always got the "please try another payment method" error at the last step.

    What worked was…
    *I had to borrow a friend's iPhone
    Not connected to VPN
    Changing my Apple ID (that I use on my work laptop…..) Region to Turkey, with a randomly generated address and phone number.
    Buying Turkish iTunes Gift Cards from G2A (849 Turkish Lira over 3 cards) ~ $52AUD.
    Log into my Apple ID on iPhone. Redeem the vouchers in the App store.
    Download NBA App.

    Connect to Turkey VPN - I use Nord
    Open NBA app.
    Log into my EXISTING AU nba account.
    Subscribe using Apple

    Was able to watch immediately on device not connected to VPN.

    Side note… Had a hell of a time trying to create a new Apple ID before using my work one.
    Seemed to be a problem with the SMS verification API. Confirmed first code via email, got second code sent to my phone, but would never work when submitted. No errors in the UI. POST errors in Dev Tools but no useful info.
    Would have been fairly quick and easy if that step had have worked

        Im following this process. Im not sure with India tbh though thanks to OP for sharing. I believe previous years when you sub to india lp it requires you to watch the games with vpn to india turned on.

          Same here. Historically, you needed to use VPN when watching via Indian subscriptions. I’ll wait it out to see others results when the season starts.

            @eciuj: For the last 2 years there has been no need to use the VPN for Indian accounts. I've had one for 7 years up until now. My credit card expired and it won't let me update it. Need a good work around for payments for non iPhone users.

    Just a warning - the NBA has IP banned me. I cannot use the NBA app or access their website using my Wi-Fi. Luckily, there are some very easy workarounds around this. I used the Turkish iOS account method last season with no problems. I renewed my league pass via my Turkish iOS account on 20/09/24 & I just noticed yesterday that the NBA has IP banned me.

        On a web browser I get the "Access Denied" error. The NBA app doesn't even load. When I switch to my data or use a VPN, I can bypass it. They didn't ban my account so I didn't get a message or anything, but they've basically banned my IP address on my Wi-Fi from accessing their website/app.

          Turns out there's an even easier way to bypass this IP ban. Just turn off your router for like 30 mins & you will be assigned a new IP address. Then you can use league pass like normal again. At least until they IP ban me again lol

                @oohaah: Oh one more thing, my Turkish iOS account was signed in via iPad, added the amount needed to the Apple wallet. Then I switched back to my normal iOS account. I never had to switch back to the Turkish iOS account at all since then. Only received confirmation of the receipt to the email that was used for my Turkish iOS account.

      I don't see why you couldn't. I used a family member's iPhone to set up the iOS method but I've only used the league pass on my Android phone or my PC. I haven't had any issues.

    i just followed the OPs post. worked. I am in the 7 day trial. the Premium was ₹2099 for me so had to add ₹2100 in apple gift cards. no vpn needed at any point

        says i am subscribed… but im in the 7 day trial . so ill see if it all goes through smooth on the 20th when they bill me.
        setup on the ipad but have been able to watch on a bunch of devices including pc and Android
