    Worth a try

  • Bargain. Ex Hobart as well ($16 more). My flight from Hobart to Melbourne is in Business. ;)

Somebody missed the 1 (10k) in front

    • Cool, so not only from Sydney then!

      • I booked 2 and one already get approved see you guys at LAX

        • What do you mean "one already get approved"?

          • +1

@snabbu: Eticket itinerary was received 10min ago

  • Perth flights available as well

    • Can't see anything from Perth unfortunately….

  • Amazing. Just tried a dummy booking for April and the cheap F fare is correct. Just haven’t got the cash to go through with it. 🙁

  • thanks for sharing this! you're a legend

  • +11

    Thanks bought 10

      Broden, is that you?

Oh so very very tempted to book 🫣
It’s whether I’d just do it then ask forgiveness…

  • waiting for the Alan joyce comments…..

Book now, pay later is an option for $25. If not paid for in a week, the fare is forfeited. Gives time to see if it will be cancelled.

    • Thanks. Good Tip!

    • Can’t see the $25 pay later option on my booking.

      • +1

On the deal link is 3 image on Imgur. The last image is the payment page and has the option “pay later”. That’s what it would be. Not sure what payments options you get at the end so I didn’t use it.

        • Great found it.

      • +1

You can book your flight now and delay payment until closer to your departure date by paying a fully refundable holding guarantee of AUD $25.00 per passenger.

Full payment must be made before:
        Thu, 29 August 2024
        11:59pm (AEST)
        Things you need to know
If full payment is not made on time your booking and holding guarantee will be forfeited.
After full payment has been made online, your holding guarantee will be refunded to the card charged.
Note that the total ticket price may change while your booking is on hold due to amendments in taxes, fees and carriers charges, as well as fare adjustments.
By clicking the Confirm Booking button, you acknowledge that the total ticket value may change when you pay in full.

    • +17

This wont work, the terms say:
"Note that the total ticket price may change while your booking is on hold due to amendments in taxes, fees and carriers charges, as well as fare adjustments.
By clicking the Confirm Booking button, you acknowledge that the total ticket value may change when you pay in full."

      • +2

Since that's the case then yeah it's not a good option.

    • +5

Bad idea. There's a clause saying they can modify the price before full payment is made.

"*While your booking is on hold, the total ticket price may fluctuate due to changes in passenger fares, carrier charges, and taxes."

      • +1

That clause is given as because prices change while you are going through the booking process of selecting seats, add ons and passenger details. Unlike Jetstar (which gives you 10 mins) to complete the booking at that price qantas doesn’t have that option. So you pay the price displayed on the final payment page. It’s illegal to force you to pay more after you have submitted the payment. But they are allowed to cancel your ticket if it’s a price error.

  • Any luck with any other countries/cities?

    • +2

      New york was working too

  • +6

My flight was ticketed so fingers crossed it doesn’t get cancelled!

    • Yep me too. Awaiting cancellation email, but here's to hoping.

  • +5

$200 off using AMEX for Qantas flights to NA over $1000. Might be worth a look at if you're going to try your luck with this deal

    • That was my plan

  • i think its gone?

  • Sydney to Miami for $2199 too.

    • First class?

      • +1

        Yes

        • Reverts back though. Are you using Google flights?

  • +19

Great bargain if true, but yet I can't justify the value of a first-class ticket… $2000+ more than an economy flight so I can take a few instagram photos of me in a fancy cabin.

    • +9

But but but, you get many many free glasses of orange juice and you get to lie down for many hours! It is very rare that we get to lie down in life so it's very compelling.

      • +1

I'm lying down while I type this.

  • Thanks booked.

  • early birds get the first class worm!

  • Qantas business rewards portal is down, so can't book through the business. Damn!

    • +1

If you’re registered on the biz site, you’ll get an option on the personal booking “Are you travelling for business” and ABN option. I think will work for Qantas Business.

  • +1

Don't have any travel plan to US, but really tempting to book.

  • anyone managed to use points to book these - i thought i saw a lower priced points for first class too but cant see it anymore!

  • +2

    Well…. It’s obvious but good luck 👍

Sometimes mistakes are made and incorrect fares can be displayed. If there is an error or mistake that is reasonably obvious in the fare price and you have a Ticket and/or a confirmed booking, we may:

    (a) cancel the Ticket and/or booking;

    (b) provide you with a refund in accordance with 14 (Refunds);

    (c) offer you a new Ticket at the correct fare price as at the time of the booking; and

    (d) in the event that you accept the offer and pay the correct fare issue you with a new Ticket.

Email recieved pricing error but as a "measure of goodwill"…"Instead of cancelling and refunding your booking, on this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill, Qantas will be rebooking you in the Business Class cabin on the same flight for the same price you have already paid. This represents a significant discount on our standard Business Class fares. We anticipate this will take us a few days to work through. There is no action required from you and an updated ticket will be sent to you at this email address."

In case anyone was interested on the outcome… I will be sticking with my 4.3k Brisbane to New York tickets return in Business Class :D Thanks OP!!

  • +3

Booked for family of 3 to get a sorry $20 voucher each!

  • Is Qantas First Class any good or worth it? I usually fly SIA.

  • Sorry, an error seems to have occurred, and this page cannot be displayed (15079, 23951, 420)

  • +1

Ah well, rolled the dice. Will be likely cancelled, but booked SYD <-> LAX Return next year.

  • +1

Thanks, booked a return to Boston - we'll see what happens

Edit: just realised it won't trigger this offer, oh well

  • Booked. No problem

    This is a genuine sale

    • How do you know it’s genuine sale and not an error fare?

      • No one knows, so let's be positive. Lol

        • But @jetfuel claims it’s a genuine sale. I want to know how do they know?

  • I chose Bpay at payment and it allows me to hold the price till midnight 23rd Aug. Let’s see what will happen after their IT at work in the morning. Hah!
One question, can I still choose to pay in other ways, eg. CC, if I decide to make the payment?
    Thanks!

  • Dang. Looking at dates and suddenly system couldn't find any, even when I went back to the originals that worked. They might have found us out.

    • +1

Refresh. Happened to me a few hours ago repeatedly.

      • +1

Great. Worked. Can't fly direct to SFO but… Let's hope.

  • +4

Was really to planning to spend Christmas and NY at Murika and this deal came. Thanks OP, let's be positive. Ticket for 4 booked!! 13k not bad. haahaha

    • -1

why these gets negged lol, did I hurt someone feelings that we will be spending xmas at murika? sorry

      • -2

If you want to go to the country maybe use the actual name.

        • If you want to go to the country maybe use the actual name.

You must be fun at parties…

  • cant see it anymore

  • -1

    what does first sale mean?

    • +1

      First class sale

    • It's the fare type. Unlike regular First class tickets they are not fully refundable or changeable without fees. So be careful when booking if you're not sure of the dates/times you want.

  • Nice one,, thank you

  • +4

Good deal but personally I’d rather spend the extra money on upgrading hotels rather than airline seats

    • +1

First time experience for us especially for my kids, we can always stay at a good hotel but not with travelling first class lol,

        • +3

They’ll play hide and seek, they can join too.

        • Fly private if you don’t want kids there!

    • +1

I mean for a long flight if you have your own bed it's really nice.

    • +1

At 6ft8 I simply cannot do economy in flights > 2 hours as the distance from seat back to seat back is less than my thigh length, so I have to fly at least premium economy these days. Would love to not have to pay so much extra just to to fit and so I don't end up with severe leg pain but it is what it is. Flew last year Brisbane to New York and it was $5k for a premium economy seat to LA and then another $800 to get an extra legroom seat across the US.

I can just manage Brisbane to Melbourne in economy but I'm in severe pain by the time we land.

  • +4

Melb to New York also available plenty of dates to choose from.
Best bet use google flights , choose first class , when going to select a date it will show all the dates that are available for the $4299-4390 prices

  • +1

Thanks for sharing this! Never flown first class and always wanted to go to NY

6am and I just booked for June next year thanks to you posting the mega deal. 🙏🙏

    • Same here 🙏🏽, my kids will see their gradma and will spend xmas at Murika

      • As if they will honour this

        • But what if they did?

  • Great. I went in quantas economy to SF and it was lot more conformable that business class jetstar. So I bet business class will be a treat on quantas

  • Thanks so much OP - gave it a go with those prices looking like they extend to July next year. Fingers crossed!

  • +2

Wonder how long they would take to refund my money if they cancelled it? Their website says NY is from $28k return, I just can’t see Qantas of all airlines honouring it. Good luck everyone !!!

    • Be prepared, so many nightmare dramas at reddit with Qantas refund

      • I really want to book but my trust for Australian airlines is very low and I don’t want to wait months for the money back, I hope everyone who had the balls to book get the flights okay

        • +9

Wife still asleep but already sent her 2 paragraphs SMS to explain about the refund

  • +1

i was trying to book using multiple cards. 2 cards charged and 1 was not charged! error came up and asked me to try booking again 😞. lost opportunity! hope they revert 2 transactions back. I can not do another booking as first 2 cards have been maxed out. I guess I need credit with higher limits to travel first class

  • What other destinations are there?
    Any?

    • +3

None I could find. Spent hours searching. Opted to fly into LAX and then head to Canada. Will wait to book Canada until I can ensure the Qantas flights will be honoured. Either way, it’s been a great little adrenaline rush haha

      • Why not fly into JFK much closer.

    • USA Mainland Cities

  • Thanks heaps OP

  • Worth a try but probably won't be honoured
