Ikea frame, and a bunnings top, is the win hack.

Actual wood instead of their veneered honeycomb cardboard shite that crumples if you try to mount/clamp a monitor to it.
I picked up one of these table tops https://www.newlineofficefurniture.com.au/desktop-natural-oa… from my local store 2 years ago for $120 and couple of the Alex drawer units from Ikea. The top still looks as new, no sagging, no chipped/crushed edging and gets crap all over it from 2 teenagers!
That's still a thin veneer over a particle board (melamine). The bunnings stuff is actual slabs of timber, some of them glued together planks, but still solid wood. Screw whatever you like into it, etc.
Maybe it is but its a lot tougher than the ones from ikea and at 25mm thick, I've screwed into this top in several places and after 2 years its still good. Drill pilot hole and use correct screws and no issues.
You're correct the bunnings product is just made up from numerous pieces of timber finger jointed (FJ) and glued together not one full solid plank of timber.
FYI
i just got home from picking up one for my kids.
They had 3 sizes there
1 x 160 x 80 White
6 x 120 x 80 Black
2 x 160 x 100 white.
wow. may I ask where it kept at Ikea? Is it electric up and down table frame? I couldn't find it in Ikea Au
