buying one for my kid, hoping he will be the next gold medalist

You got 4 years to pull a Raygun. Get yourself one as well!

  • they dont get any more basic than this

    • +1

Well yeah, it's $35. It gets you a basic board to start you off. The spitfire wheels I just bought are more than double this price.

Super cheap but is it worth getting it or spend more on eg globe complete for $100 with tensor trucks

    • I would get an element if you don't know if you want to skate and what type of skateboarding you want to do.

Globe with tensor trucks would be a step up. They also have some larger sizes as well.

Next would be a custom setup with Indy/Ace/Thunder trucks and Spitfire f4's but would run you about $300.

for sure. waste of money this.

actually, they are quite reasonable (skater for 35 years and owner of 300+ decks)

        • -2

mine is longer, and i can pee further

        • Can't even get a deck for $35 so a complete setup that gets you skating is a pretty sweet deal. No other complete even comes close to this price.

I don't have 300 decks but I have a couple of these and they still get use.

          • @benderz: Are the bearings alright or do they need greasing straight up?

            • @madseason: It will be fine to go straight out of the box!

You should only need to relube the bearings if you ride it on dirty surfaces but it's pretty easy to do.

  • If I search the 'completes' for the smallest board, I find a 7.75inch Helical - would I grab this for my 6 year old boy?

  • Oooo the "HATCHED RED BLUE COMPLETE SKATEBOARD" has a 7.375inch option but it's out of stock. Alos the 'OUT THERE' model which is 1size is a 7.75inch according to product info.

What's the pick of all the 8inch boards if I grabbed one? Are the graphics the only real difference on the $50 ones?

Grabbed the Helical for the boy and a perspectrum for me for $75 delivered.

Bit late, but my 6 year old rides a 7.75. I was going to get him something a bit smaller, but he is fine with it. Bonus is that it's a lot more stable for going down banks.

Any 8 is the same shape and setup so no difference at all. Just remember to get some pads because you will both be falling off!
