    990 EVO is compatible with PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2

    Firstly this is not even considered a fast drive in PCIe 4.0 standards.

    Also the physical PCIe lanes can't change, if it's x4 then there are that many physical wires, it won't split half/half for higher generation, meaning this is a controller bottleneck.

    marketing BS, not an interesting drive IMO unless it's really cheap.

    Just search 4TB m.2 in search on OzB and see.

    If you want reliability, go the samsung pro series 980 or 990 but that comes at a premium cost.
