Making up a third of all electricity production is certainly hilarious.

Sounds like a Sky News taking point.

Andrew Bolt gives you a high five

  • Do they verify you are actually eligible for the rebate in vic

    • +3

Yes once you accept their quote you will receive an email from Solar Vic where you log in and provide tax return assessment etc. and then you will usually get your approval instantly if you are eligible
You receive a QR code there which you need to show the installers

      • is there a way i can confirm the eligibility before i accept a quote?

        • What criteria don’t you think you meet?

          • @Brick50: income threshold and how it split between myself and wife. i know of some people who seem to be above the threshold but they somehow obtained the rebate, hence the query. Without the rebate it doesnt seem to make sense for our specific scenario

            • +1

@svs500: Likely because you can choose 2022/2023 or 2023/2024 FY whichever is lower

It’s part of the T&C of the contract that if you don’t get the rebate you can cancel it.

I’m still waiting for my system to be installed by Marshall energy hopefully next Tuesday but I believe I accepted the quote and got the approval before I paid the deposit ($350)

8.36 KW solar panels with 8.5Kw inverter? more capacity for an inventer than panels?

    • +1

yeah agree, weird not to add more panels, or have a smaller inverter.

      • +1

Considering the rule of thumb is x1.33 this is definitely strange.

        • +3

This is totally fine. A 5kw inverter is too small. This 8.5 will have 3 trackers and be very common and popular. Probably buy only that size and get good buying power. Makes no impact on the effectiveness of the panels regardless of amount.

Good price reasonable gear. If the install quality is fine too then this is great

          • +1

@mcgrathkerr: It's fine, but if you're going to go to all that effort it's probably worth the extra few hundred bucks to go up to 10Kw of panels.

            • @freefall101: Yeah if you have the space 13.3kw with a 10 is probably the new standard now

          • @mcgrathkerr: I got the previous deal from them and installation was neat. Only complaint was the more than normal follow ups with sales/admin team. Provided that feedback directly and hope they made necessary corrections!!

  • +4

A "complaint" switchboard is required :D

    • That's been edited 😊, Cheers Mate!

    AndySolar? What about KennySolar

    • Sorry, @ram4ram, I never heard about them.

  • Do you have a calculator or something to use to estimate the impact this would have on my electricity bill? Last electricity bill was $380 for the month of July (1453 kWh used).

House in SE suburbs of Melb, North facing roof, no shading.

    • +1

The benefit will largely depend on how much of your usage you can shift to daylight hours since FIT is so low. Things like scheduling washing machine/dishwasher/dryer etc during daylight hours, switching to electric (heat pump) hot water, etc. You can get detailed data from your smart meter so you can see at what hours your usage is, and see how that matches up with sunlight hours.

      • what do you mean by FIT?

    • We have a design software to calculate the estimated savings on your bill. Please let me know if you're interested.

Had a great experience with these guys. Had an initial problem with the fact that I had a 2 story townhouse. Dealt with Jacob and then Andy and they helped find a suitable installer. All went smoothly and was switched on within a week after install.

    • Thanks a lot for the feedback!! It means a lot 😊

  • @AndySolar do you have the Trina 700W panels?

    • Sorry, we do not have 700w panels. We use 500w panels for commercial installations

  • Any amazing deals like this in WA? :(

These ones look ripoff, I got mine installed recently cheap as chips.
    6.6 KW $950 with Fox-Ess 5kw Inverter.with premium Panels 16 x 415 W, Seraphim SIV SERIES.

You just have to pay $1400 interest free loan over the period of 5 years, which these guys won't tell you.

Talk to the below guys before installing in melbourne any suburb, he freaking beats any quote. Too much hidden thingys in there.

That's a 6.6kw system. I wish you good luck with the products you've installed. The 415w panels are three years old, so it looks like you've been ripped off.

  • Do you have Sungrow inverter? I yes then how much difference in cost? Thanks.

    • Yes, we do!! It is around $600-$800 depending on the inverter size.

  • I recently had solar panels installed by Marshall Energy and am very pleased with the results. The value and quality of the solar package were exceptional, and the workmanship was superb. A big thank you to the entire team—from sales to installation—especially Andy, Jacob, TK, and Henry. They were punctual, professional, and ensured everything was done correctly and cleaned up afterwards. I highly recommend Marshall Energy to anyone considering solar energy; their service is truly outstanding and the package was a BARGAIN compared to others in the market! Basically, the bargain is a 8kw+ package but paying a 6kw+ price tag.

  • Hey Jamie!!

Thank you, Jamie! I appreciate your feedback :) I am glad that you're happy with everything.

I will be sure to pass this on to the team.

    Cheers

  • Roughly how much for a switchboard upgrade (1970 single story home, United energy area, overhead cables)?

    • +1

It depends on the type of upgrade. Could you please email us the picture of the switchboard and house address? We will get back to you with a price.

  • My property was previously had solar panels installed but removed—-is this deal still worth it without the rebate offer?

    • Yes!! You can replace the old system with a new one, and if eligible, you will get the rebates too.
