This is getting awfully close to a competition. Even COTD tell you how many they have for events like this
hehehehehe
Still good price for Australian stores.
In that Australian Geographic store the binoculars would be $90 or around that price. They are rip off merchants.
Hey JV, our Celestron products are sourced from local distributors with local warranty. Even if you could buy it from Celestron US (given their export restrictions), shipping would add a significant cost to the product, most likely by more than double the price of what you pay for the binoculars!
If you check on comparison search engines in Australia(http://www.myshopping.com.au/ZM--1226909166_Celestron_CEL_71…), we are significantly cheaper to all other Australian sellers.
I hope this helps with your analysis. Do be rest assured that we are really going low with pricing for our OZHut Frenzy and can assure you that at $20, this pair of binoculars is a genuine bargain :)
Also,
They're only $9.95 cheaper than your normal price, so I don't know where you pulled the 'save 67%' out of…

Hey JV,
Yes they are at a sale price of $29.95 at the moment for our Christmas special (Normally we sell them at $42.95). Exclusively for OZHut frenzy, we cut it down further by $9.95 which is really a lot considering its significant Christmas sale reduction already.
67% off is based on RRP which is supplied by Celestron Australia themselves and is indicative of the price you would pay if you purchased from local retail stores. Please note that we have displayed this accurately on our advertisement as being '67% off RRP'
Sorry, just read through and thought it might be more relevant here
I took this off the ACCC Website (http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/815334)
Comparisons with the recommended retail price (RRP)
Advertising or promotions of 'savings' or 'discounts' on the RRP of goods and services are designed to convince you that you are getting a good deal because the price is less than the RRP.
If traders do not normally price their goods at the RRP, it may be misleading to give you the impression that they do.
If you never offered it at the RRP, looking at the site, it seems like everything is discounted off RRP so I doubt these have been sold at RRP before. This according to ACCC is classed as Misleading Pricing and can be reported to them or Consumer Affairs down in Victoria.
Prices are good and the site isn't bad - I like that under the "Work" tab you have listed breathalyzers, lol :) Oh sweet - its also under Corporate gifts too!
A bit redundant, calling a pair of binoculars 'UpClose', is it not?

Moved to reply their staff reply as it was more appropriate.
A few minutes in and the hamsters are knackered already?
Looks like another meltdown like click frenzy, sheesh. Why wont these companies ever learn from other people's mistake is beyond me. If there's a sale (online or at the store) always beef up your resources. I really don't understand the way these companies think.
This should go well…
