          • @brainactive: Get one and see - free returns. It should and is a good brand. Just make sure it's PD charging and the watts you want.
Or just get a google one and wont have to worry about it anymore. Handy to have a couple anyway,

          • @brainactive: The Pixel 9 needs a charger that supports PPS at the required amperages and voltages.

            Same for Samsung fast charging.

Any brand charger that meets the required spec should work. But many chargers don't say if they support PPS. And sometimes there is still comparability issues.

If Startrack hadn't lost my Pixel 9 I'd have been able to do some comparability checking by now… Hopefully in a day or two.

The Ugreen 65W charger does 45W PPS and supports Samsung Super Fast Charge 2.0. So likely supports full speed fast charging on the Pixel 9. But the exact voltages supported (and the exact voltages the Pixel 9 needs) are not given so I can't say for sure.

Once mine arrives I'll log a charge cycle and see.

            • @Prong: Thanks Prong, hope you get your Pixel soon. Would be keen to see the results of your testing. I know ugreen 65w charger supports super fast charging at 25w but I don't believe it supports sfc 2.0 at 45w. For that it seems the ugreen 100w charger is needed. Is that correct?

Also did you get the Pixel 9 or Pixel 9 pro xl? The 9 only supports up to 27w max but the XL supports up to 37w.

@brainactive: I received my Pixel 9 Pro XL and have done some tests.

Up to 27W charging needs a charger that supports PPS 3.3-11V 3A.

For 37W charging, the charger needs to support PPS 3.3-21V 3A. (Or at least PPS with 2.25A at 21V. EG the Google charger is up to 11V 3A 16V/3A, 21V/2.25A)

It appears loads of 65W chargers don't support PPS above 11V. Such as the Ugreen 65W, and various Anker models. The Ugreen 100W for example does PPS 3.3-21V 5A so should do the full 37W charging.

                • @Prong: Surely it's still faster than a 18W or 30W charger though? Not worth overthinking otherwise just get the Google charger.

                  • @G-rig: Faster than the Ugreen 65W charger? (Model: CD244)

Yeah, PPS 3.3-11V 4.5A on the Ugreen 65W means 27W charging (full speed on Pixel 9 and 9 Pro). So faster than an 18W charger. And slightly faster than a 30W charger (like the Ugreen 30W with PPS 3.3-11V 2.75A) but the same speed as the Ugreen 35W charger (PPS 3.3-11V 3A).

For $20 the tiny Ugreen 30W charger(amazon.com.au) is a great deal and hits about 25W charging ont he Pixel 9.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL appears to default to 18W charging if the charger has no PPS. But I have not tested that for a long period so it might ramp that higher if left longer.

Ultimately though the higher charge speed doesn't make a huge difference over the full charge cycle. It's mostly useful if your phone is under 50% charge and you need to do a quick 10 minute top up.

                    • @Prong: No, I said it would still be faster that any other 18-30W charger. Got the anker 45W one and it's fine.

                      • @G-rig: Yep sorry I meant the Ugreen 65W charger is faster than 18W or 30W chargers.

But not much. All the 65W or under chargers (aside from the Google 45W one) I've checked do PPS up to 11V 3A so will only do 27W on the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

So they are no faster than a 33W charger than also does PPS 11V 3A.

I'm not sure about the Anker 45W. Depends on what PPS voltage and amperage it supports.

  • Does anyone who if we buy 2 phones in two seperate transactions under once account, then would be get twice the store credit offered? Or is it just one store credit per account?

  • Anyone (or know of anyone) bought a new XL (128gb) off Gumtree or ebay?

I've bought the XL via the JB deal but not having many nibbles selling my P7P. I'm thinking of getting an XL via the Google deal, trading in the P7P, and then on selling the XL.

Just wondering what would be a reasonable price to sell it for….

Anyone else having issues with Google's trade in partner? They have rejected my fully reset phone for not being reset. Online reviews suggest the pull the same trick overseas too, luckily I took pics and videos before sending it off…

  • Has anyone successfully returned their phone (trade in) without being rejected? I'm going to post it to tomorrow.

    • How can you get rejected, did you mention the ACL?

Going to return mine today or tomorrow and may as well get the 9 pro if the pixels aren't cheap anyway (JB hi-fi).

      • Apparently the Google's trade in Partner is rejecting the phones and sending it back. And a lot of people have have given reviews about the same issue with the partner
I have already sent mine. Finger's crossed.

        • How did you go with the return?

          • +1

@brawndo: I got the full refund on Friday!! Yay! 😁

            • @Jobvacnzs: How long did it take them to assess your phone?
They received mine on thursday noon (according to auspost tracking), but they haven't done anything with it since.

@maiuspala: They took 5 business days! Mine was delivered on a Friday and got their response a week (8 days after being delivered)

                • @Jobvacnzs: Thank you. I got worried already. Have heard quite a few trade in horror stories.
