Fulfilled by Amazon, this is the cheapest wireless + battery + solar outdoor security camera combo I was able to find (maybe even of all time?). Above $59 so should be free shipping for everyone.

Haven't heard of Netvue before, but they seem to be big in the camera birdfeeder space (Birdfy)… seems to be the only camera that does AI bird detection if anyone is into that. I ordered today as this actually suits my use case, just wanted something cheap that I can use to keep an eye on the chicken coop.

Interesting, ordered one. Will set up and report back. Can probably replace the lithium battery if it does die

  • Battery overheat fire hazard for $59.99 ??

  • Why not try
iegeek brand Camera…I had 4 , very clear view.

  • Does it have all the functions without a subscription?

    Just installed mine, reporting back:
    - Mounting hardware and screws sucks, really need to find a sweet spot to stop it from flopping around but is fine once you find it. Screws stripped instantly so need to BYO.
    - Image quality is pretty good
    - Wifi range is excellent, my phone stopped connecting when I was setting it up outside in the backyard, but the camera continued to have a strong signal
    - Core features of recording to SD with motion are free. Subscriptions are needed for cloud video storage which is on par with everyone else.
    - The Nextvue Next app is filled with all this social 'community video' garbage, the regular Nextvue app works great.

Overall pretty happy with the purchase, especially for the price, would buy again.

    • Thanks for the review, considering getting now.

  • I recently tested this security camera at the front of my house, and overall, it’s a mixed experience.

    Pros
The night vision is impressive, and the 1080p video quality is decent. The WiFi connection works well, even in a challenging location, and the solar panel for wireless setup is a nice touch, though I’m unsure if it’s charging effectively :/

    Cons
The motion detection lacks customisation; I wish I could set activity zones to only alert me when something crosses my house's perimeter while keeping the street visible. The camera only records 10 second bursts unless you pay for a subscription. That's no surprise that you need subscriptions for advanced features these days. The app also crashes/force closes occasionally but this can be fixed with a restart.

Also, I temporarily installed the included screws on a wood block, and it held up well, though I can't comment on the other mounting hardware.
