Moving forward to a new energy future.
Great for heating DynaVap too, for administering certain medicine.
Bro get an induction heater! So much easier.
I did, the ispire wand.
Are these better than ones you put on the gas canisters?
idk about better…maybe very slightly safer…
I kinda wish I got one of those instead as the flame seems huge and fast from them
For cooking, definitely go with gas canisters. Had a mini one like these which required refilling quite often and took forever to make aburi or creme brulee.
Absolutely!
A brazing torch from Bunnings is my tool of choice.
Hot, quick, inexpensive cartridges & not a silly toy. Make sure that it uses screw on cartridges though.
The ones on ebay made in korea are good. around the same price as this and no fiddling around wasting gas trying to fill it.
Depends what you're trying to do with it. I have Aldi's one, the flame is a lot smaller and maybe more controllable for something like creme brulee (you can see it in this video) although sometimes can take a bit of patience, so I'd definitely recommend one that you don't have to hold down to keep alight..
My isobutane one has a much bigger flame, any attempt to turn down to the level of the butane one will put it out. It would probably blast through a creme brulee in no time but it's not something I'd use it for. I'm sure there are uses for it in the kitchen though. Good for using up the dregs of the can if you also use a canister stove too.
You can get an isobutane topper one as low as ~$4 from Aliexpress with your next order so worth having one in the toolbox anyway.
I bought the Aldi one and found the capacity far too small, or maybe it was leaking very slowly? Either way I picked up a can mount one on clearance from Supercheap a while back and it's no contest in flame and reliability and knowing there's enough fuel.
I'd save the money towards one of those.
I have one of these and it's great, you can lower the flame really low. perfect for creme brule or warming up your flower vase
Homer: Heh heh - far out man, i haven't seen a bong in years
I thought Bongs are rechargable these days?
And here I was naively thinking why would anyone want to warm up a flower vase 😅
Refueling is so much hassle. I switched to the one that you just put the head directly on the canister.
Got a link handy bud?

I reckon this is the way to go
Tempted to cancel and get this instead :/
link to same product but on Ebay for free shipping but it costs slightly more https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p233249…
Sorry no link from me. I bought it at the Korean grocery. The red ones that you often see in the sushi shops.
I second this.
YA! Refuelling so smelly and wasteful due to user error. Also I can detach the gas canister and be quite happy that there won't be major leaks etc.
due to user error
At least you’re self aware
YES! Currently working on project called skynet. Don't worry it will be over soon. :)
Could anyone recommend one where the flame is less "focused"? We have a similar one and often end up burning the cheese..
I've had a few of these over the years but never seen a less focussed one. Try those trade torches from Bunners. Maybe they have a wider flame.
Where is best for the refills? Assuming Bunnings
Colesworth
Probably, unless you've got a $10 voucher for BCF or SCA and use for theirs priced at nearly double.
real bargainheads know a $2 lighter will turn any aerosol into a torch
If you only want a cool jet flame lighter, go supercheap auto. It is $6 there.

Lol, very flimsy and ignition failed on 3rd click. Kmart butane canisters for el cheapo..
Buyers beware… Despite all of the good reviews you might want to read through the one-star reviews. I would fall in the bucket where the refilling is horrible and leaks
Yeah these things leak when refilling
Looks good for getting rid of stringing on 3d prints
Refilling is definitely not an easy experience but the torch itself works really well. Strong flame and great build quality.
Would still recommend at this price.
I have one, this is a good price.
Sturdy build.
Refilling is a little tricky and leaks a little. But holds enough to keep going for while.
Note: You can only use for 5 minutes continously before the nozzle gets to hot (need to cool down for a bit).yeah I find these leak when you refill. It's very messy although it's a little that leaks.
Have this, can confirm it's too weak for aburi sushi. Takes forever! Don't know about creme brulee though.
Amazing product. Sadly I lost the refill nossle. Any recommendation where can I buy replacement?
Don't bother buying torches that requires refilling like these. Get a butane torch like this that you connect directly to a butane can: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006875668148.html
why waste money on this? just get a torch that can fit into the normal cannister. cheaper and easier!
Not necessarily cheaper, but yeah mush easier.
It's cheaper if you get the 4 pack of cans from bunnings.
Anyone know anything similar but better than this??? I have this one and everything seems fine except the gas refilling issue. Leaking everywhere, wasting so much gas from the big bottle, and I have to do it outside. I do have the head that connects to the big gas canister but we prefer to have something like this on the dining table, more useful and practical than the big canister.
Perfect for the old “Glass didgeridoo“
perfect for lighting candles on the weekend
