  • How does their gravy stack up to KFC's?

    • -1

Horrible and runny unless you add your own mashed potato it may be the equivalent.

      • +3

That……..doesn't sound like it stacks up at all…….. :)
        Cheers

        • +1

They're different products, you're talking about KFC's potato and gravy.
The correct comparison is KFC's gravy (no potato).

        • -2

Yeah, I actually assumed that it had tatters in it too.
Seems odd with just gravy by itself.
What would you even use the gravy for?

        • Pouring it over your chicken

        • +1

Dipping your chicken in. And your fries.

        • +4

Gravy - how does it work?

    • It doesn't. It has no taste basically.

    • Bad.

    • +1

think of Red Rooster gravy as Paris Hilton, and KFC gravy as Natalia Pereverzeva. Both look nice (arguably) but only one of them has any taste.

      • +3

Has no idea who Natalia Pereverzeva is.
Not sure if safe to google at work.
        Must resist urge.

    • It's not that bad. Pour it over your chips and chicken and you'll be right.

KFC stuff isn't a whole lot better and Ajdj10, you're doing it wrong mate if you have no idea what to use the gravy for.

      • Nah I know what it's for.
It's just that the chicken tastes so great by itself, it seems stupid to put gravy on it.
And since there's no potato the gravy, seems crap to dip the chips in especially if it tastes crap.
So there's not much use for the gravy :P

        • disagree, chicken taste gross with or without gravy, although it does taste better alone.

  • +1

I think we're going to need another of those super cheap printer deals.

  • hopefully the voucher is valid. print 4 vouchers in 1 page so you could save the world.

  • +4

Well I guess you could call it…
    A feast for 2

    yeahhhhhhh

    • +1

      What a date!
The girls must be lining up at your drive thru.

  • In for one tomorrow. Can't beat 50% off food!

    • +4

      "Can't beat 50% off food"
what about 75% off… or even free? does that beat it?

    • You going to eat all this yourself?

      • very doable esp when you consider that its only 1/4 chook.

  • Is this 1/2 or 1/4 chook?

    • +1

      1/4 I'm afraid :-(

  • they're also doing free reg chips with any classic crispy burger! not sure about the expiry.

  • Available at company owned stores only. Ring and check before going to a store if you are not sure.

    • +1

      Worked at Southern Cross

  • Do they put the apple bites in with the chicken and chips or do they come in their own packaging?

    • +1

own small packet, kind of like the mcbites at maccas were.

  • Thanks for that. I think my daughter may be allergic to these so that's good they separate them from the rest.

  • Sounds good, too bad half the Red Rooster stores in SA closed down .. I can't even name one off the top of my head.

  • $9.90 for a Qtr Chicken pack (sans the BOGOF) is not a good deal.

  • Its an okay deal, not that great since its only 1/4 of chicken.

    • +3

      are you serious buddy?

1/4 chicken + chips + gravy + regular drink + apple bites for $4.90 is a bit better than OK.

      that's amazing value.

      • I remember back in the day 1/4 chicken and chips were $2.50 at red rooster for a limited time, no silly coupon required. Ohhhhh my. sweet memories of something so good so cheap. fed the family for $10, minus the unhealthy soft drinks.

      • +1

I don't think its worth it,
Drink is small, apple bites are tiny, 1/4 of chicken is the only thing worth anything really, and chips are worth like 20cents to make. It's good pricing for a fastfood chain I guess. Got one for me and a buddy and it barely filled us up.

$3 chips at coles will make you 10x more chips, gravy $3, drink $2, $3 worth of chicken will get you half a chicken.

        • What are you on about? Since when is a whole BBQ chicken $6? That, and the chips you're talking about need to be cooked. If you can find a better deal than this, please share it.

        • You dont know how to cook chips or a whole chicken? A better offer is KFCs $9 FOR 9 pieces of chicken or pizzas from dominoes or 10 cheeseburgers from mcD.

Really how do people find small chips and one piece of chicken any good?

  • just bought dinner. 4 of these for $20. bargain.

  • Worked fine at Baulkham Hills.

  • +20

I used this tonight in the valley (Bris). It was a late dinner, I was expecting half full boxes, so I thought I'd eat more than 1. I was wrong… the boxes were filled with a big quarter of chicken & plenty of chips. I ended up giving the second meal to a hungry looking dude who asked if I had a cigarette. He was very thankful. He said he hadn't eaten since his morning, so OzBargain is at least partly responsible for looking after this hungry dude. Job well done.

    • your a winner in my books sir

    • Good on you! Top shelf.

    • My hats off to you! What generosity!

Good things will come to you! ^=^

    • I just bought it today, they were barely full boxes, I could probably finish 3 boxes. It was like 1 piece of chicken lol.

  • Great deal. Lunch today and tomorrow sorted.

  • "are you serious buddy?"

If you think it so great a deal, why didn't you give it a positive vote? I suppose its a fantastic deal from a fastfood chain. I missed the quarter chicken and chips for $2 days, and also I had to walk uphill both ways to school. :P

  • my nearest store is still too far.

  • Yum! Pity it is not for the Hot Chicken Roll, Chips & Pineapple Ring LOL :)

  • I'm going today. What's that thing on top of the chicken piece?

    • A chicken wing.

  • +2

Wow, they took the picture off the link just before I was about to print it off and go.. did anyone manage to save the photo?

edit: Went in-store, explained it, ended up getting the deal without presenting the coupon. They did not include the chicken wings.. oh well

    • +3

I have it saved, if anyone wants it, PM me. They are still accepting it in store, I just got one.

    • What do you mean they didn't include the chicken wings……………….?

Bought this before and my god the gravy really needs potato, didn't even get through one of em.
And this isn't very filling. Damn you small chicken sizes!

      • Well, actually I got my mum to go for me.. I was too damn lazy lol. Anyway, she explained it blah blah, she comes home and they didn't include the wings. Perhaps they forgot or they were pissed off because we had no voucher, idk, still was a good meal though.

        • +1

If you're talking about other chicken wing on top of the piece it's actually part of the 1/4 piece, and you probably would've got the part with the drumstick attached instead.

  • I guess I should've saved it before. I was going to print it out now and they removed it even though it's still valid, such a shame.
