I've been waiting so long for these, this is such a good price

    • You know how the seller only sold 1700 items, how would you verify that this item is authentic and has full warranty from the manutacturer? Like an authorised reseller?

      • Same question I got

  • +1

Bought one. Thanks OP! Almost bought this yesterday, glad I waited for a deal.

  • Good deal! This or B&W Px7 S2 for about $360?

    • +6

I've had the PX7 S2 for about 2 years, and got the Momentum 4 a few months ago.

Definitely the M4 in my books. Reason I changed from PX7 S2 was:
      1) the square-ish ear cushions actually left a slight air gap around jaw that ruined noise cancelling for one of my ears. Everytime I turned my head the "seal" would break which was very distracting having outside sound suddenly coming in and out.
      2) honestly while detail was nice it felt a lot like lower frequencies were more cut off.

The build quality of the PX7 was exceptional however. Looked and felt really nice.

      Things I appreciate about the M4 over PX7 S2 (and my partner's xm5):
      1) Sub-bass extension is incredible. Definitely has thst sensation of being able to "feel" the low notes, and no bass bloat. PX7 felt like any attempt to increase bass to account for cut-off was just raising more mid-bass and drowning about vocals.
      2) Battery life is obviously ridiculously good.
      3) App has better equaliser.

Comfort-wise I feel like they're about the same. M4 has less clamping force but I wouldn't trust them to stay on if I shake my head. I use earbuds (wf-1000xm5) at gym but I feel like either might fall off if I lay down in a bench with them.

Overally I definitely don't regret side-grsding to M4. Feels like an upgrade to me.

EDIT: should note I don't use mic so can't comment on call quality; they're purely for music, media and games for me.

      • Thanks for your detailed response, mate! Really helpful.

      • Thanks. Appreciate the detail

Damnit, at this price they're so tempting. Don't even need them :(

  • +9

Gotta remind myself that I only got 2 ears and 5 headphones already…

  • +3

Can you replace the band on these?

I'm getting tired of headsets leaving pleather in my hair and on my face due to disintegration.

  • Damnit, I paid $311.25 just three weeks ago. :(

    • Might make you feel better: a couple of months ago I thought 375 was a good price…. :(

  • +5

Just a warning I recently had these headphones and had to take them back as after 4 days one of the earcups started blasting white noise constantly, this was being caused by faulty/damaged ANC which these headphone have no way of turning off. Online there are many people complaining of similar issues. when i took them back to JB the girl working didnt even check them and said that they have had heaps of returns with this model

    • +1

I bought mine recently and will be sending them back because you can't turn the ANC off, otherwise great set of headphones and a great price.

  • +3

Any one able to compare these to the Sony WH1000-XM4 ?

    • +1

      Rtings has a comparison.

These seem essentially better across the board (if you EQ both) however the Sony has better ANC and possibly a better mic.

But that's a highly technical review from a single source.

    • TIL eBay plus has change of mind returns.

I've bought a pair, will report back with my findings.

So far I've tried Apple Airpods Pro 2, Bose QC as replacements to the XM4's and they just haven't measured up.

      • +1

TIL eBay plus has change of mind returns.

        only for eBay Plus items

      • +3

FYI change of mind returns does not mean you can test it and then return it. It's subject to the seller's policy, but usually they expect the product to still be sealed and unused.

        • +1

Sennheiser eBay store allows you to test the M4 and return if you want to. I have done it.

    • OK. So mine just arrived (super fast shipping).

I'm no audiophile, but the sound quality is wayyyy better than the Sony WH1000-XM4. Things sound much clearer and just more "vibrant" (not sure what word im looking for here, but they sound amazing). I was worried it wouldn't have the same amount of bass, but they definitely do - ended up turning off the bass boost because it felt weird on my ears.

Noise cancellation I would personally say is better than the XM4.

The only thing that I don't like so far is that they turn on when you take them out of the case. Need to figure out how to turn that off.
The case is also super nice and has lots of accessories.

Very happy with these for the price - guess I won't need to test the change of mind returns!

  • How are these compared to the xm5s?

    • you would find a few videos comparison between the two on youtube. I went with the M4 in the end.

    • Better

  • hopefully they fixed those software issues.

can’t remember all of them but one was the “auto off detection” not working properly and the headphones would turn themselves on randomly in the case, stealing audio and phone calls away from your phone while you are on a call.

another was something to do with the EQ? or some custom setting, which would reset itself constantly. can’t be bothered to search for all issues rn but check comments on all previous deals if you want to know all issues.

  • How are these compared to Bose Ultra?

    • +2

The QC Ultra a generally better in every way, except price (which is usually around $450 when on sale). I'd say maybe worth it if ANC is super important to you, otherwise its difficult to justify the difference in price.

      • sound is better on sennheiser. Ultra sounds a bit flat

  • +1

I am enjoying my momentum 3's, this price is so tempting. Must resist it.

    • +1

I hit the buy button, the 60-hour battery got me…

    • M4 completely outshined M3 on all aspects (expect the truely simplistic appearance for some). 100% more comfortable to wear with least 400% better battery life. I paid $395 in Jan. and I don’t mind to get a second one for the sake of this bargain.

  • I thought i got a good deal during prime day deals at 350

  • +1

This might be the cheapest it's ever been so far

  • +3

I literally bought these headphones for $398 just last week from jb hi fi price matched against Harvey norman, someone comfort me..

    • +1

don't these come with like 30 day return or is it different if you get it from retail

      • +1

nope i read the terms and conditions, it has to be either defective or unused and sealed. unlucky

  • +3

If you haven't used Zip before, you can get these for $239 when stacked with this Zip Click Frenzy offer, buying direct from Sennheiser
    https://www.sennheiser-hearing.com/en-AU/p/momentum-4-wirele…

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/860516

  • How do these compare to the momentum 3s?

  • +3

Pulled the trigger, but via the Sennheiser AU website (still 30 day returns, 2 year warranty) which offered a 10% welcome discount. If you have a NAB card, you can use their Goodies promo - spend $300 and get $50 back.

    This takes it down to $255.10 ($339 - 10% off - $50).

    • Not seeing that offer on my NAB app under Goodies, is it targeted?

      • Ah yeah, it might be? Goodies claim they are "personalised" offers, I've had this one in my app for 2 weeks.

        • Ah ok, yea I've got diff offers so it must not be for everyone

          • +2

@Skumzy: Some good ones! Spend $50, get $10 back at Ampol. $300 get $30 at Appliances Online. $75 get $15 at BigW.

  • +3

I've had these for a little over a year now. Really don't rate them (for the price).
    1) the ANC is average
    2) the microphone for calls is average
    3) the fabric on the headband part is starting to pull
    4) the app has had a lot of bugs and issues
    5) the on-head detection is a massive pain, if you bump these (or even the bag they are in) they might turn on and connect to your device, rerouting the call you might be on.

    The good:
    - They look OK
    - The touch controls are OK
    - The sound quality is good.

    Back in stock

  • These are amazing for music and gaming

  • Although not quite as good the 458BT and 450BT are on sale at Cex for $80 which is a steal. I just ordered the 458's.

  • These or save $150 and get the Soundcore Space Q45s? Just for my wife to use when walking/gardening for podcasts and endless Taylor Swift….

    • +3

Have the q45 and they are great…… For the price, these are better in every way. If you want a decent set of headphones this is a killer price

      • So Q45 are great (currently $138 via their website), but also these are great too? I saw that the cheaper Sennheiser (Accentum) was also on special via ebay for $165 but the Q45s seem to get slightly better reviews…

        • +1

Both good, if you have the money buy the sennheiser, worth the extra but if you want the best headphone under $200 go the soundcore

  • Just might be me but i can't tell the difference in sound quality between this and bose 700

  • Spewing I missed this. Will wait for another deal as good.
