Comment

Seems to be a pretty ok deal for these models. Besides it's outdated design, and 16gb of soldered ram, they are well regarded for a non high-end HP laptop. I'm personally going to get one for myself for uni

  • wow $330 more and you get many things better (comparing with this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/334878624201?)

    • +2

For $330 more I agree, but the laptop you link is a pretty bad comparison. That one has an older zen 3 CPU, worse IGPU, lower resolution screen, half the refresh rate, and half the brightness. It only has expandable ram (which can be huge for people who needs it)

For the spec it has and the targeted audience, the Acer Swift Go series with the zen 4 CPU are more comparable I believe, which is $100 less than this but has different pros and cons

      • thank you i was considering that cheaper one actually but not so sure now.
with ebay i can get TRS from the pre discount amount therefore nett $880ish.
(vs this, nett after TRS = $1200 .. higher upfront cost). just also found out elitebook is better level than pavilion probably irrelevant

        • +1

That elite book is fine if you don't need the feature of this pavilion plus (the 120hz 400 nits oled display and IGPU that's pretty competent when its 16gb of ram doesn't hinder it).

However I think you should ask yourself if you will be working outside a lot, and will be using it for media consumption because that screen won't be fun to stare at. Otherwise, the build quality and battery life should be good.

    Soldered Ram

    • +2

Yes, it does say that in the description.

I have this laptop from a previous sale.

It's fantastic and the screen is great.

    • How do you find the battery life?

      • +1

It's been pretty good. I use it mostly on the charger but I fall asleep after watching tv shows for a few hours and still it has half battery left the next morning.

      • reviews says 10-11hrs video playback with max refresh rate! impressive

  • Cashrewards and Shopback have 3% cash back until the end of the week

  • Has anyone tried the trade in? I have a super old HP laptop so don't think I'll get much off so might not be worth it?

  • Excellent first post !!
