Went to medical centre chemist (in E block sir Charles Gairdner hospital Nedlands WA 6009) to fill in my dads insulin script and they are giving away free TrueResult glucometers. Lots of features, 4 second reading cheap test strips(60 cents for 50 for concession card holders) and lancets ($12 for a box of 100). The only catch was I had to buy a pack of 50 test strips for 60 cents to get the machine!!
Comes with life time warranty and free battery supplied by Nipro Australia yearly.
Absolute bargain at this price as these usually retail for $50 or more.
Chemist phone number 93463729 if you want to reserve one.
FREE TrueResult Glucometer (usually $50 or more) at QE2Chemist Nedlands WA 6009 E block SCGH

I would imagine the 60 cents for the box of strips would only apply if you are an NDSS member AND have a health care/concession card.
A friend of mine recently went shopping for one, and found that they all pretty much end up costing 0 for the machine all the time, and the manufacturers get their money through the strips/lancets. However, they all only came down to 0 cost after a mail-in rebate of the $50 or so purchase price. Having a 0 cost up-front is certainly a much much better way to do things.
I'm giving you a + for running around and getting your dad's drugs. And because it's in WA.
