Best Cheap 5G Plans That Offer Number Sharing?

Just got a smartwatch and found out you need to do number sharing for the LTE ones, which not all providers offer.

Belong apparently don't offer it, but then again I got some numpty overseas.

Who offers the best value for money 5G plan that allows for number sharing (even as a $5 extra)?

Ideally I'd go the Telstra network, but not necessary if Vodafone or Optus network plans offer it.

Cheers

Pretty clear cut, if you want Telstra network then it has to be Telstra.

Networks do not offer this to the MVNOs, or on prepaid, so $$$. It's not the $5/m but the $50 base rate that is the worry.

I decided number sharing was not really worth the cost of a Telstra postpaid plan, so just got a separate eSIM for my Samsung watch. Apple does not allow it though. Typical Apple restrictions :-(

    • Yep exactly, the true cost of number sharing is more like minimum $30~+ a month if you compare plans to similar ones through MVNOs such as Boost, you'd have to really use your watch independently of your phone a lot to make it worthwhile IMO.

      Also,

Out of interest, which eSim plan did you go for your watch? I've just got the watch ultra, (coming from the 5 Pro)… so I'd be half interested if there was a cheap option.

  • Ended up going with Vodafone.

    $39/m + $5/m

    Not totally unreasonable.

    • Not if you frequently leave your phone at home and rely on the watch. But still $350/year more than what I pay for a Telstra MVNO on phone, and separate eSIM on watch.

      • Can you do separate esim on apple watch? I think its only on Wear OS right?
