It’s a well known stove in the ultralight hiking community.

Only thing bizarre about this post is your comment.

on Ali for around $10 (without a pouch)

They are OK but do need wind cover at all times.

    • you are right, I am getting one more from Ali

        that's closer like 11usd + tax = 12usd~=18.5aud

20aud from amazon is ok price. bargain? let the people decideeee!

      • Bizarre - that aliexpress stove is coming up as $18 + $3 postage now.

FWIW a lot of them ordered from Ali will be rejected by the seller's shipping company and never be sent. I had to order from 7 different sellers before one eventually could get it to me. Was epic PITA.

Is a silly issue as clearly the stoves are inert and not a fire risk but I assume the logistics company gets them classified as a stove and then just blindly rejects them.

Maybe I was unlucky and you can get the seller's who have this sorted out - but was a major frustration, so the Amazon seller havng Aussie stock already is a handy thing for a few $$$ more.

Maybe just this particular type? I've ordered a few stoves from aliexpress and have had no issues with shipping. perhaps just how it's packaged or labelled.

      • I think half the reason is potential residual gas getting detected by security (especially if it's second hand), I've seen posts about people trying to get hiking stoves through airports and they've had issues if their bbq hasn't been cleaned properly.

Probably easier to get a Campmaster kit from Kmart or a 360 Degrees one from somewhere like Anaconda or BCF

PSA for anyone that owns this, avoid turning on maximum flame output + laying a heavy pot on top.
There’s a chance the three pot holders may warp .

Its an ultralight stove that’s not meant to handle much cooking weight.
