Acrylic… so, hard? Doesn't seem like it would be comfortable?

Yeah but it can be better than trying to hover your wrists in the air, or worse, having your wrists on the table and angling your fingers way up. I 3d printed my own wrist rest and it's solid plastic but way better than the alternative.

        Fine. I'll allow it.

surprisingly it's decent, but you gotta make sure your chair height/elbow position are somewhat in the ballpark of a "good" height also. i've come to prefer "hard" wrist wrests because don't trap heat like the soft ones/towels.

I've got a very old and manky Fellowes gel wrist rest. They don't make proper gel ones anymore as far as I know. So I'm stuck with this old, dirty, half destroyed one.

    • Palm rests are basically meant to be rests, so it's not to put weight onto them but rather, to stop you from having a terrible angle (like having your hands angled and cause issues on the wrist).

I think "the recommended posture" has your hands "floating above" the keys so that your wrists are not bent. At least that's what I have been seeing floating around the net. I am sure there would be something more formal beyond recommendations from blogs on the net if you look around (given how height of the switches actually became shorter from ergonomics concerns led standard changes in 80s).

  • Good find! Got one thanks!

  • Acrylic is hard, I have a wrist rest now but before I used a rolled up tea towel, works a treat.

  • Anything with TKL?
