You are correct, I regard any 4060 laptops over $2k NOT a real bargain at all these days, maybe $1.5k then we are talking!

The 14700HX, in this laptop, is a desktop class CPU used in mobile. It could be plagued by the issues Intel is currently experiencing with 13th and 14th gen desktop CPUs being unstable and causing crashes. I would hold off until this issue is properly resolved.

Agreed, this is an industry wide issue - note the stock is brand new & has warranty from the vendor (HP).
I don't think it will at all be 'resolved'.
CPUs already affected would have permanent damage to them. Those who aren't yet affected will need to update their BIOS to prevent this issue. So really it depends if HP has released an update to fix this.
