  • This or the 4070 Ti Super deal for $1192?

    • If you care about DLSS, maybe Nvidia?

      • +11

This > Nvidia. I’ve tested both

        • +1

Agree. I have a 7900 XTX, my son has a 4080. AMD outperforms in most (but not all) games.

          • +4

@Bruceflix: I have this exact card ($1,499.00 from the same retailer in March). If you care about raytracing, get the 4070 Super, otherwise this as its a bit faster and tons more memory which may be useful if you play some modded games as well as a hell of a lot more future proof).

This card also doesnt use reference heat pipe design (which is a good thing) and stays pretty cool without making tons of noise

4070 Ti Super for the AI and DLSS

I'm playing with ConfyIU for image generation and having a Nvidia GPU is a plus

    • Which deal is it

      • +1
        • Would the 4070Ti better even for 4K gaming?

          • +2

@educalifa: The 7900xtx is on par with the 4080 if you don't count frame generation

            • @Deterrence: Ok, not I'm properly confused… haha I admittedly haven't upgraded GPUs in a while so I was under the impression the 4080 was better than the 4070Ti? Not the case??

              • +2

                @educalifa: 7900xtx>4080>4070ti

                • @Dienk: Cheers! I guess it's the CPU's time to be the bottleneck then…

                  • +1

@educalifa: Don't over do it, if you're current GPU is really old a 4070Ti Super could very much be space age.
Add that it's better value in terms of FPS/$ and FPS/watt.
Unless you're mad keen for performance at any cost then go the 4070Ti Super.

No point getting the XTX and then having it sit there bottlenecked.

                    • +1

@virtual81: I understand your point but my PC is old AF at this point and I'm pretty much in for a whole new build… the GPU will probably just be the first part but the rest will come in quick succession.

Only things salvageable at this point will probably be the case and PSU really. Expensive times ahead!

                      • @educalifa: There’s some great prices on pre built pc at the moment from nebula

    • +2

The both has cons and pro
4070 ti super - DSLL (better than FSR), better RT performance, used less power (new PSU or not), some apps works better on Nvidia (not gaming)
7900xtx - faster raw performance (ie, native resolution), more VRAM (more years until you are held back by 16gb VRAM).

days when gfx card cost 180

    • +10

Probably how much it costs NVIDIA to make a 4090

    • Never fear my brother, those days are still upon us: https://www.umart.com.au/product/msi-gt-710-2g-ddr3-low-prof…

      • 4K 30hz eeesh

      • Somehow even worse than a normal GT 710 because it has DDR3 instead of GDDR5

      • The GT710 will still be available even after the apocalypse

    • RIP

    • Bought my 970 for $450 back in 2015. Was 1/3 of the build cost still.

    • Back when game devs and publishers knew how to work with what they had.

  • 320mm118.5mm62mm
    338mm147mm62mm(with bracket)

What bracket are they talking about? Is that something additional to the GPU, like some anti-sag bracket that you may/may not need?

    • I assume the PCI bracket on the end of the card. But I could be wrong

      • Yep, it comes with a bracket. its got a metal backplate but the bracket is there for a reason.

    • +1

comes with a stand the gpu

    • +1

      It's the anti sag bracket

    • In my experience I needed it, saw it on a mates PC after a while the weight of the card ended up bending the PCB on the motherboard. I'm using one as well as a generic "Video Card Sag Holder Bracket" from amazon $15~ Well worth the peace of mind.

There's a guy on YT who fixes GPU's (forgot his channel name) and he get's in a huge amount of GPU's that have the crack at the PCIE slot. Worst thing is they are not repairable . I think it's mostly Nvidia, but probably because Nvidia is 90% of the market and AMD is prone to same failure.

  • +3

It's been this price for nearly 2 months

    • +1

Not for this model, but 7900 XTX in general yes.

      • +2

Powercolor is also one of the more highly regarded AMD AIB partners, and hence attract a premium in pricing when compared to other models.

      • +3

I think you'll find this hellhound model has been this price for 2 months because iv been watching it, not really a new deal, but if youve only just found it then is new to you

        • I check it base on pcpartpicker, and the price history shows the drop at late Jun and therefore my answer

      • Yes it has I recommended this to my friend early June for this price..
I even spoke to PC case gear if it will go lower and told me they can't say but just to watch.

Eofy didn't bring it any lower
Edit: also I didn't post it because there were higher models with factory overclock for better prices such as the Asus tuf and gigabyte gaming oc

        • This model is good if you want to use a reference waterblock vs the gigabyte gaming and asus which limit your choice if any.

Im trying to get a 3rd reference amd model myself lol

          • +1

@RBZ10: Its not a reference card though?

        • This model has a slight 3% or something OC from memory

          • @Franc-T: Yeah hence why in my case I want stock so all 3 cards same plus usb c comes in handy

  • if I had the PSU to run this I would have got it but I stuck with the 7800 XT TUF asus 3 fan edition works great for me :D

  • +1

How much PSU do i need for this? Paired with a ryzen 3600

    • 850w on the safe side

  • Not $1349 anymore
    It is now $1369
