Country of origin ? and do you know the isolate vc concentrate % ?

      • When they can't determine the origin, it usually means China I'm come to learn.

        • Is China a cheese producing country? I thought whey came from Canada, US, NZ etc.

        • +4

Some honest clarity from the rep would be appreciated here. I've had other whey that turned out to come from Mexico.

          • +2

@chyawala: Most reps wont disclose thier source. That would indicate quality.

      • +6

Well done on not answering any of the questions. Is this what we can expect from customer service if there's an issue with the purchase?

        Expected Behaviour
It is recommended that reps respond to comments and reasonable enquiries about their deal, product or service.

        • +3

Rep could learn a thing or two from how aminoz does things around here

  • +6

All that info but left out… 62% protein which isn't great.

    • +5

And 16 grams carbs. yet has artificial sweetner.

  • +3

    Jeez this seems so expensive.

    • have you got a link to something cheaper? even BN sells WP at about 40-50 for a 1kg bag.

      • Chicken meat. Yes, less % of protein, but better bioavailability.

      • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/845577 They go on sale every few months. I am not a fan of it, but cheap protein powders are there. Works out to 25$ a kilo for a 92% protein.

        • +2

Just out of interest why not a fan?

Am now a huge fan of aminoz- taste, ease of digestion, price when they do their promos with credit back etc - the service is also next level. Fast shipping. Not a fan of the flavour ? Refund or replace no questions asked.

I used to buy mainly bulk nutrients but before that I tried a whole bunch of other brands like BSN , ON gold, my protein (this was the worst), far east alchemy (best taste and easiest on my digestion but way too expensive), musashi, amazonia pea protein (was also mega gross but decent on digestion) etc

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I always only buy unflavored and after they changed thier provider 2 years back, i dont like the protein - little bit hard to digest, bad mixability. I even had a discussion somewhere in thier own thread with Jay. Maybe its just me as I might be allergic to the dairy they import the protein from. I used to buy uprotein as they have added digestive enzyme at 169 for 4Kilos, but they recently sent an email saying they will increase the price 15%, so they are off the list. I think for now I will stick to myProtein as I will know the source is always constant and a standard. But just need to buy in small batches as they always send close to expiry batch on sale.

            • @[Deactivated]: Nah fair enough thanks for the reply

              15%

Damn hey times r tough… I will say though running a small business be hard times speaking from experience. Freight is a killer even using 3rd party solutions like sendle.

If you are a Costco member -2kg @65.99

        https://www.costco.com.au/Health-Beauty/Nutrition-Weight-Man…

Instore its $10 cheaper as well.

        • That's pretty good!
So what's the final in store price?

          • @cwongtech: Should be 56, if true not bad for a stevia sweetened 81% whey.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: @cwongtech at the costco Canberra on shelf price was $69.99 with a $14 instant rebate

              Final price - $55.99

              • @dazza826: Just playing devils advocate here, but the deal above is expired, so that's kind of irrelevant. Costco membership gets you 2kg for $56 if you go pick it up, this deal is 1.8kg for 53.90 including delivery.

I'm not understanding the neg over price at all 🤔 seems like a good deal if I wanted to order protein powder today?

                • @lulzenberg: The price is good ill give it that.

16g of carbs per 100g seems high.

                  https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0742/9482/1142/files/Dynam…

Per 100g leanfit product gives you 80.6g of protein, this gives you 62.9g

                  1.8kg = 1132.2g protein

                  Leanfit
                  2kg = 1612g
                  1.8kg = 1450.8g

The sellers reluctance to disclose origin of whey puts me off personally as I have had bad experiences with protein sellers before.

Years ago back when it was a bit more of a wild west here in oz I remember a company was caught either lying about their protein and either cutting it/substituting straight milk powder to save on costs.

                  • @dazza826: I dont get you. Nobody ever discloses thier protein source. That should never be a reason.

                    • +1

@[Deactivated]: Sorry I worded that poorly I meant which country it is sourced from, like us, nz etc not their actual source if that makes senss.

      • In the past I would use sales and cash rewards to buy a 5kg back of wpc protein from Myprotein for between $100-$120.

Even though it's wpc it's got less sugar and more protein than what's listed on this.

my go to is vitalstrength from chemist warehouse, it's usually sold at 30-50% off RRP

vanilla is incredible, heard bad things about their chocolate but never tried it

reliable value and quality, maybe a bit paranoid but don't feel it's worth saving a couple of bucks on white labels when it comes to sups

not the best value at the moment, will drop to mid 20s in short order

Can confirm the chocolate is horrible. Haven't bothered with other flavours.

One of the rare occasions where I actually threw most of the Tub out, it was that bad.

    • +1

Yes I can vouch for Vital Strengh protein. I've been trying Bulk Nutrients and Aminoz and they're good I dont have any issues but I noticed higher gains from branded proteins before for same amount of work. I have no idea why I'm not a protein expert its just my experience. The best protein I've had was Cybord Sport Collagen PRO - PROTEIN. It used to be $40-50 per kg before Covid. Now its $90. Unaffordable.

  • Anyone tried this brand?

    https://www.blackbeltprotein.com.au/product/whey-protein-con…

The price is good.. Just wondering the quality.. Anyone who has tried this plz give your insight 😊

    • +1

Yes. Product was fine. Customer service was terrible.
