I paid $284.05 for the G84 at Chatswood Officeworks tonight, at around 20:40, so at least one price beat would have been registered in their system.

20 minutes before closing. Good price beat.

      • Officeworks are now showing a price of $297

      • I did exactly the same on Bundaberg Officeworks, at around 6.50pm.. 10 minutes before closing..

I know it's not the lowest price ever, but at under $300 this is still better than the regular prices for the last few weeks.

Amazon purchase can be stacked with 20PRIME coupon for final price of $279 delivered.

is this better than poco x6 pro?

    • +10

On paper the POCO X6 Pro seems like a better phone. Keep in mind that being a Xiaomi phone, the bootloader unlocking process on the POCO will be a royal pain. It is not possible unlock the bootloader when you need it most - to recover your phone. Motorola unlocks are much simpler an can be done using adb from fastboot.

I'm upgrading from two POCO X3 Pros, which I like very much, but the manufacturer provided Android updates were rare and the phone has not received security updates for years. The POCO X3 Pro also had very high failure rates due to several hardware issues, including a buggy PMIC and the CPU/DRAM stack needing re-balling.

The POCO X6 Pro was also on my shortlist, but it is more expensive and you have to import your own as there is no Australian distribution.

  • Hello Moto!

I think the Mobileciti deal from last month was the ATL.

Could someone please recommend a (9H tempered glass) screen protector deal for the G84?
It was nice of Motorola to include a case but no screen protector. WTF!

    • yeah that was a good deal for a good phone (it's my travel backup for if something were to happen to my iPhone)

Think I paid $247 for this version on recent mobilciti ebay deal . Returned it sealed as decided to stay samsung. Maybe $200 soon .

  • G84 or the new cmf phone 1 by nothing?

    • This imo

  • Will it get Android 15 ? Or 14 will be the last ?

  • hodl?

      It's been $299 many times.

I'd wait for at least $250.

Really wish G84 had esim support, its the one thing I can't overlook nowadays. Crazy cos the G54 does support esim.

    • Yeah G54 with an SD card is a better option if you travel.

    • Thanks. No esim is deal breaker for me. Been using esim for years.

  • What is all time low?

I'm enjoying this phone over the last few weeks. I don't know why so many ppl keep harping on the fact that it gets one android update. Just yesterday the release of the latest security update was out. That's all that matters. I don't like the clear case it comes with so I bought another clear case from Amazon UK it sandwiches and protects both front and rear. Looks good feels good, but a few times now it hasn't picked my fingerprints. Could be cold dry weather and dry fingers with the top protector making the issue. I still like it and the price, just to think I was holding out for fold5 unpack event only to be blocked by Samsung's inept buying system.

I don't know why so many ppl keep harping on the fact that it gets one android update.

People mean major version updates, not security update. Security updates are meant to be monthly anyways.

    • I know, , I mentioned the security update simply because it was released the previous day to the post. It's already on Android 14. Enjoy it. And for the record Motorola have never done monthly security updates on this end of their phone spectrum. That's from the early G series, to the g51 and this g84 in my experience.

These entry and mid range phones always received only one update. People need to get over it. Security updates are all you'll get from there.

Want more, pay more, in a different phone.

  • Thanks for the link, I grabbed one of these. Much to my disappointment I have discovered my Xiaomi Poco X5 5G would not work on the Telstra Network after the 3G shutdown. VoLTE won't work with this phone on Telstra. I dropped a Kogan (Vodafone) sim into the Poco after being told the phone would work on the Vodafone network and again the VoLTE was not available. Pretty disappointing in a phone less than 12 months old. Hopefully this Motorola will serve my needs.

    • I've had no issues with activating VoLTE and VoWIFI on a POCO X3 Pro, which is an even older phone. The Xiaomi dialer code is a toggle that enables/disables the carrier check. In order to enable VoLTE on the POCO, you want the carrier check set to DISABLED. Thus the phne will ignore whatever list of phones Telstra or Vodafone have blessed and enable VoLTE.

      • I have disabled the Carrier Check using ##86583##. Got a pop up saying the Carrier Check had been disabled. Rebooted my phone, ##4636## and in IMS Serice Status it still said VoLTE Unavailable. My Poco X3 died and I bought this one to replace it. The place I bought it said it should work on Vodafone or Optus but not Telstra after the 3G shutdown. The Poco X6 works fine with Telstra but not the X5 5G. The Star doesn't show in the published text here at Ozbargain. Note the VoWIFI now works with Vodafone.

  • That's should be the RRP for this phone now, or worth paying $100 more for the new CMF Phone 1 instead?
