Amazing games, although HOTK 3 was grindy lmao
Very few downloads and reviews. Unfortunately, I consider such applications unsafe. It maybe a great game, not a virus, but without commercial success authors can sell it to the bad guys and the next update will add a virus.

that's why you don't auto update your games. Wait until the game is updated for several years, and check the reviews, comments or sites to see if it's safe.
If there's nobody to review you will be betatester yourself. Auto or nonauto update does not make it popular enough to trust.

The Heroes Of The Kingdom series has been around on iOS, Android, Steam & GOG for over a decade, i think your concerns are rather unfounded.
Lonely Troops is listed as the developer/publisher on all stores and there is plenty of positive reviews for all games in the series.If in a decade the most popular from all of them got just 50k downloads it only confirms my concerns.

Does anyone know a way around this restriction so that i can add these free games to my account before i upgrade to something that can run them?
It seems like such an odd restriction, i cant think of a single other digital game store that gatekeeps you from adding stuff to your account…
