IKEA Ladda 2450 mAh for $12 is a better deal

Except Out of Stock stores near me. 65k return to store with stock.

Adding $5 delivery makes it only 10c cheaper than this S&S Deal.
Cheaper with discounted Amazon gift card.

I've found the LADDA more reliable – don't think I've had one of them fail – but maybe I just prefer capital letters 🤷🏻‍♂️

Never had a problem with Eneloop - used them for years. Just need a few more.

          • @INFIDEL: Always

@INFIDEL: Mine have been going since I got them from the Dick Smith deals in 2012. I run a capacity test on them every once in a while and they are still performing at high levels. They are astounding.

            • @outlander: Bought some then from old Dick Smith deals.
Good that they're still holding their capacity 12 years later!!
Ordered more since - can't tell any difference between old & newer.

        • I bought brand new eneloops when gta v came out and they're still going strong.

Close to $14 and will be worth it.

    S&S? Perfect!
I wont even have to bother recharging them.

I think you’re better off with these

    • Absolutely worth a little more for the PROs.

    • It's totally dependent on your personal use case.
      - The Pros don't hold their charge as long
      - The Pros are better for higher battery drain applications (like a super bright torch the gets regular use).

However, using the torch as an ongoing example, the normal Eneloop batteries (white) would be better for a low end torch that hardly gets used at all.

Good guys have it at the same price. Also free delivery via UBER

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/eneloop-aa-rechargeable-batte…

    • $19 for 4 x AA until 31/7
Not as cheap as S&S from Amazon
      Also AAA for $19 ($24.75 / $22.28 on Amazon)

      Or 16$ pickup from TGGC

      • Ordered👍

  • Any better priced options?

I've been looking into getting more, especially AAA batteries. 10 years ago I got them from Hobbyking for $1 each, but they no longer sell them.
A lot of the products on Aliexpress and Amazon seem to have high ratings, until you go to Sort By Most Recent, and then all the comments say they are bad.

It's crazy that no real competition has cropped up for NiMh from China. Some googling I did yesterday says that Tenergy has some decently priced options, but there's nothing much in the Aus market.

    • My HK LSDs always heated up quite a bit when charged with eneloop charger. They were never eneloop PRO quality to begin with. I still have a few left, but I always pick up the eneloops instead when using.
