    Superb price thanks OP.

Thx OP. Now I don't have to feel too bad for missing out on the last deal. Gonna plug it in my vinyl player :D

  • +3

Great price. FYI for anyone wondering, yes, it's worth paying the extra for the other deal on the HD560S

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/857796

    • Is the 560 more of a reference/monitoring headphone compared to this 599?

      • Yes

      • I have both. Often reach for the 599.

        • I've got the 6XXs I use for producing. It's probably not worth getting these is it?

    • What's the difference?

I'm thinking either one for my beginner DDJ-FLX4?

      Thanks for your advice.

Edit: Screw it, bit the bullet on the 560s's

Neither great for djing because basically no isolation.

If it’s just for home then it’s whatever tho.

        • Yeah, just around the house.

I like DJ'ing but doing any real event/club is panic-attack provoking.. 😅 No thanks!

          • +1

@WasBargain: Yeah fine then. More comfortable than dj cans too.

            • +1

              @Kabal: Sickkk, thanks bud!

I know almost nothing apart from I was "pretty good" playing around with a mates CDJ400's (can't remember what mixer he had to pair) almost 15 years ago now.. 😅

Edit: Damn, I went to see what one CDJ400 is worth nowadays and Cashies has one in pretty good condition for $180 which seems pretty decent. 😅

              Double Edit: Found a single CDJ800mk2 for $200. 🤣

            • @Kabal: Now FB is suggesting me things like 2x CDJ1000mk3's for $400, a little beat up though.

I don't know what I needed for the FLX4 but I also ordered a Decksaver.

@WasBargain: @WasBargain one thing to bear in mind is that headphones intended for DJing often have more range of movement on the earcup pivots, so they’re easier to switch between single and both ear listening during the mixes

                • @theMoebius: Yeah, I noticed this! I'll also need a pair if I ever actually take the unit to a friends or something because it's soo much easier to transport in a bag when you can lay them almost "flat" if you want to call it that.. 😅

I randomly came across a video where someone reckons you could get away with like the HD25's or some KRK speakers (if you want that route) as some of their "pro" friends still use these at home or whatever..? 😅

Edit: Oh damn, the non-splittable version of the HD25's is already (not on special) almost as much as the HD560s I just bought.. 😪

Was $100 on Amazon prime day but this is still a sweet deal.

    • +1

      Isn’t it still prime “day”?

      • +1

Coming up as $130. Suggest renaming to Prime week

        • +1

Correct, it was always $130 for prime "day" but on the first day (or hours?) there was a selectable $30 coupon to bring it down to $100.

    • The deal was stacking with 20Prime for $80

  • Was hoping Amazon would match this again as it would be easier to return if they don't suit.

I'd use these for a while, then forget about them after switching back to Sony XM4s for bluetooth/noise cancelling convenience. Still want them though damnit.

  • +5

Got mine from Amazon and there a little underwhelming, coming from my Sony ZX770BN there not as comfortable and just sound tinny, I use my Sony's with a cord with out noise cancelling on btw as my desktop headphones.
I did play around with the EQ and not any better.

    • +3

Try using them exclusively for a while, then try your other headphones again. Sometimes it takes a bit for our brains to get used to the new sound, often anything different to what you're used to sounds 'off' or 'bad'.

Audio is highly subjective and if after all you still don't like them, then that's perfectly okay.

    • +4

I'm also not super happy with them. Voices seeming sort of echoy and muffled, and music sounds like it's being played from behind a wall. The cord being on the left is frustrating depending on your setup, and I find them pretty uncomfortable.

      • +1

Someone should make a cable that swaps left and right channels.

  • Thank's mate, I missed out on the last deal.
Time to upgrade from my HD461

  • +2

Commbank has an offer for Ebay spend $100 and get $10 off(could be targeted). Use it and bring down the price further.

    • +1

That's a good thought to combine, but unfortunately can only apply one voucher at a time so doesn’t work. Just tried

    • Codes don't stack. Shame.

  • someone convince me not to buy this

    • +4

      DO NOT BUY IT !!

    • Double dog dare you not to buy this.

    • I'm in the same camp.. 😪

    • +1

It's the preferred headphone of transgender Trump loving vegan baby seal clubbers.

      • You forgot to throw adrenochrome in the mix

  • Awesome
    Do I need a backup 🤔

Does anyone know how bad is the sound leakage for the Senheiser HD599? Since it is an open back design, would they be suitable to listen to music in the office?

    • +1

Yes imo but variables are volume and your colleagues.

    • +1

If you want to crank it no it’s not appropriate.

    • just dont……..

    • I used an open back, with very low volume, none can hear if the office is big enough.

    • Thanks all, cancelled my order. Had no idea about open back and the sound leakage at medium volumes. I'd rather not disturb my colleagues with any music so will keep with my existing headphones.

  • +1

As a knock about ultra comfy pair of headphones for a little music at your desktop it's hard to do better. Just buy and be happy.

  • +1

I bought these in the last sale on ozbargain. Right immediately after trying them, I felt they were great. As I used them lot more often, I realised they are very muddy sound and lacks details. However, they are comfortable though. I am now a days using my old reliable Audio Technica M50X again.
