what is the litres per minute

    • 7.1 Litres per minute from what I could see online.

      • And it isn't a GERNI

  • +4

Sorry to be rude @dmcain but this is a horribly reviewed pressure washer. I'd avoid like the plague with reviews like that.

    https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/jet-usa-3100-psi-r…

    • 1.3 with 20 reviews is brutal, rare to find any product with a fair amount of reviews with a score that low, the recent 3 star review is really helping it's average

      • +1

You don't see such low reviews often. Generally there will be a few 3 stars bolstering even the shittiest of items on productreviews so i was taken aback at the 1.3 Esp as you said if you consider that 3 star review - without that i would wager it would be 1star or below.

    • +5

Yeah interesting. Weird how all the reviews are from several years ago. We tend to sell 40-50 of these per month, and haven't picked up on there being issues with the product. That said, review sites exist for a reason, so if the 1 year warranty doesn't give you piece of mind, it's not for me to convince you either way.

      • Well said mate and i appreciate your quick and polite reply! It surprises me that you haven't had many issues with such a model so maybe there's been a change. But as you said review sites are there for a reason.

        • +1

For what its worth, and again I'm not trying to push you to buy etc. Review sites are tricky business, especially at product level. People don't go out of their way to review stuff unless they are asked. They are more likely to leave bad reviews online if they are trying to achieve an outcome with a seller/brand.

Even for us, at a business level its been interesting to navigate. We tend to use TrustPilot for Lasoo, and sit on 4.3 stars. BUT this is driven by us asking buyers to review us. Most the 1-stars we see are organic reviews, often with easily fixed issues (which we then try to rectify). To hazard a guess, I would say the organic reviews would average 2* maybe, but the requested reviews are nearer 4.5*.

If the distributor was smart enough to request the happy customers review the product, they would probably see a better outcome on the stars.

          • @dmcain:

People don't go out of their way to review stuff unless they are asked.

Nonsense. People review stuff because they have something to say about it, and have benefited from reading reviews for other things. Writing reviews feeds the system that helped them in the first place.

You'll find that if people really like something, they will review it. Or if they really dislike something, they will review it.

If you are throwing freebies or incentives to your recent buyers in exchange for writing reviews, that's a great way to get fake "nothing" reviews. The buyer probably wants the discount code you handed out. You aren't asking buyers to review the product 6 months later are you. No, you're asking a few days after they buy it, which is not enough time to get to know the product, it's strengths and weaknesses under different conditions etc.

This is the reason I completely ignore TrustPilot reviews. They are nothing burger reviews that come from pestering customers a few days after purchase. Any service or business with "trust" in the name should not be trusted.

    Is it really 3100PSI?

    • +1

      Is it really 3100PSI?

Yes, but with reduced water volume, A real 3,000psi machine is 15 litres per minute. See my post below.

BTW. Every pressure washer on their web page highlights PSI. By increasing the PSI you have to REDUCE the water volume.

Note they don't mention water volume.

  • +1

Is this the fosters lager of pressure washers

  • +2

I spent many years selling REAL pressure washers. A genuine 3,000 PSI pressure washer is 3 phase at 5.8kw and runs 15 litres per minute. A genuine 1,500 to 1,700 PSI, is single phase at 2.5kw, runs 11 litres per minute.

    • It's so hard. I see Aldi like ones everywhere, then you research good ones and there are still so many reviews about broken parts. Then you look to the petrol monsters that are the size of a car and they clearly have problems. What's the best one out there on the market? Seems like such a tough question to get an answer to. I'd be interested to hear given your expertise.

What would you recommend for home use? Use cases of cleaning tiles, outside walls, outdoor furniture.

      • What would you recommend for home use? Use cases of cleaning tiles, outside walls, outdoor furniture.

I wouldn't recommend any of the pressure washers available at supercheap, Bunnings etc for anything more than light and I mean LIGHT domestic use.

As I mentioned above, the average Joe sees 2,700 PSI in an add and thinks, wow, that's, great I'll buy that, not realising the water volume has been reduced to achieve it.

There was one domestic machine built to industrial quality. I would recommend I would recommend and I'm chasing up if it's still available. It's not cheap at around $1.200 to $1,300. I'll message you when I find out.

        • Could you please shed light on how to choose one for light use such as car washing…. most of the deals are from Bunnings, supercheap, Aldi and Bosch from Amazon, but I dont see anyone being rated as Ozbargain's favourite.

Being searching (this site and other forums) for a while but can't get valuable information to be educated.

I have a RX450 looking for upgrade and try other brands.

          • +1

@NoBargainNoLife: For light use I wouldn't go under $500 for one.

They all appear to have axial pumps that are ok in industrial machines but pretty weak in domestic.

  • Everyone else lists this model as 1800PSI

  • I have been using JET-USA RX450 for car washing since Feb 2016. The first 4-5 years were very good with a proper snow cannon that I bought separately, but then it started leaking from the bottom (from the copper part inside the machine), and the pump started lagging, I have to hold the trigger for a while to get it working, and the hose kinks from the middle as the rubber deformed.

It is still usable but a pain in the ass, but don't get me wrong, for 4-5 years of good use (I wash my car once a month, so 60 times good use) I only paid $70ish I dont regret buying it at all.

I am looking for an upgrade but not sure if I should buy OP's given bad reviews….

I own one of these and have to say that for the occasional car wash, cement cleaning etc it's adequate. I use it every few months.
It has some cons - the connections are a bit dodgy and pop off sometimes, and the pressure is great but not awesome.
However at the price it's a great buy for occasional use.

  • Had one, never again. Weak, array of nozzles are mostly useless, and the water power brush didn't have the holes to allow the head to powerup, they were blocked in the moulding process. Popped right off on first use. Cheap nasty crap. The psi rating is best wish, see what we can get away with kinda deal. Wish I kept the Karcher 5.20 I had.

I realise mine was a different lolder and larger model, but I'd believe all the reviewers saying how bad this is.

  • Same price as Ozito one from bunnings. Any one tried both?
