Doesn't deliver to SE Melbourne. 😑

    • +5

Maybe try drone delivery with doordash

    • They don't deliver to ACT either.

    • Looks like they've opened up the delivery area on this item

      • Thanks let me check

        • +1

Managed to order to Melbourne Metro. Price also down to $577.8 with coupon.

          • +1

@brifog: Yes even I was able to place order, used ebay gift card 560.50.

  • Quick question for anyone who already owns this, is there an explanation as to how the 'automatic' setting works? Does it just weigh the load and estimate drying time based on that, or does it have a moisture sensor or something?

    • +3

I think it has a humidity sensor and works off that

    • +3

Moisture detection - humidty sensor or whatever. once the moisture ceases coming from the clothes it assumes dry. it's pretty good tbh. The only time we use the "time" setting and set for ~2 hours is doonas which dont spin or move inside the dryer being so bulky so they give a false reading of being dry. Everything else we use auto and set to high intensity.

    • +1

It works fine when it's not super full. Plenty of times I've had to reset the cycle after it's finished and while the air inside the drum is nice and warm, the clothes are still dampish and need more time.

    • +2

I'm not sure how it works, but honestly it's the easiest one to just leave it on. I was skeptical at first, but my parents own the same model and I tried lots of different options on theirs with mixed results. Automatic is consistently the most reliable to get everything dry no matter what mix of clothes/materials you are trying to dry.

      • second this own 2, about to get a 3rd in the family and works fine most of the time on automatic. Great dryers for the price. Have tried the more expensive ones biggest difference is the noise (expensive being a tad quieter) and build quality of the switches and buttons.

  • How do you clean the condenser compartment? Gets awfully damp and full of lint. Is that normal for heat pump dryers or just this one? Works great otherwise.

    • +1

Open the flap and get in there with a toothbrush to dislodge all the lint then vacuum it all up

    • I use my finger when a cycle is just finished and all the lint is wet you can easily pull it off. If the lint is dry you can just vacuum everything. It doesn't need to be perfectly clean.

I've had mine for 7 years still going strong

      • 7 years…this model? That's good mileage.

        • Yes I am surprised too. Also family have bought 2 more and also going strong.

          • +2

@killingtime: I keep looking at a heat pump dryer but my Hoover I bought in ~2002 is still trucking

  • Esatto or Aldi 8 kg $599 one🤔

    • +4

This from AO as it's delivered+installed+unpacked+free removal. Why bother with Aldi when they're the same price, plus extra services from AO.

      • Plus potentially discounted gift cards and cashback.

    • ALDI is 3yr warranty vs 2yr (But ACL should cover if any issues)
ALDI one has LED to light up the load vs Esatto doesn't (is it just me that like watching the clothes flying in the tub?)
      Both can Reverse tumble
Disclaimer: ALDI one happy owner :)

      • +2

Esatto is also 3 year warranty. 2 directly with purchase then an extra year after registering the product on the website aswell as Esatto also having an LED to light up the load.

Disclaimar: Esatto one happy owner :)

        • +1

          Thanks for correcting me!
Interesting part for the led light, not seeing the button in the photo, I just need another coffee I suppose ;)

          • +1

@Jasongood: Just helping out fellow bargainers! As for the button, I just reread what you said and I also need a coffee. Esatto has an automatic light that turns on with the opening of the door. Don't recall if it stays on during the cycle though.

It definitely has 3 year warranty though and an automatic light that comes on when the door is opened.

            • +1

@takonesta: The light only stays for a max of 30sec something, then it will automatically turned off, no way to switch it back on unless you recycle the power (off/on again)

  • AM I right in thinking these have to be on the floor due to weight? You can't wall mount them…but could you maybe make a strong shelf and put them on that?

  • Anyone got this with a stacker thing? Need to replace a wall mounted dryer.

    • This

    • -2

only vent dryer can be wall mounted. Heat Pump Dryer can't be wall mounted or stacked

      • The manual says it can be stacked

      • I had Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer once, and purposefully came with a rubber sheet to stack them.

So, you're half right: no wall mounting, but can be stacked (on a front loader, ofc).

    • Used this dryer rack as my washing machine is smaller than this dryer. They have an Amazon, Ebay and Bunnings listing but picked it up to save.
      https://www.britec.com.au/product/dryer-stand-maxi/

      • That's expensive. Is this the best option

    • +2

Use a rubber (not silicone) mat instead. Better to absorb vibration rather than using an overpriced plastic stacker

  • I think this is the new model

  • Why is this brand so cheaper?

    • They're price beating Aldi. But Esatto has always been cheaper than more established brands: LG, Bosch, Electrolux, etc.

      • Why isn't Samsung included?

        • +4

Because Samsung are shit for whitegoods.

  • I wish they made these upside down with the controls at the bottom so it can be stacked on top of a washing machine.

    • +1

      It can. I stacked mine.

      • But not upside down. I know you’re not saying that, but in case an anyone reads this and thinks they’ll give it a go.

  • Great unit. Have had ours for 3 years and works a treat

  • +1
    • SA only?

      • Im in S.A. I’m not not too sure about other states.

    • Didnt even know this existed!

  • Got this machine last winter, been great so far. In SA use the YESS rebate, it’s another $130 off from memory.

It can stack on top off Morley front loaders I assume, you just need a stacking mat. Buy these off eBay , they’re expensive in stores.

Can anybody shed some light on how typical wash/dry instructions are handled with heat pump dryers? As there is no heat are usual instructions still to be considered? I’ve tried some elastic and print items which don’t seem to deteriorate the way they would in a standard dryer, would really like to know if there’s a definitive guide as what to not put in this machine.

  • If you register the product online, you'll receive an additional one-year warranty, bringing the total coverage to three years. Additionally, you have the option to purchase a three-year care plan by calling AO customer care.

  • +1

Mine died after 5 years. Reduced performance 3 years in.
