    Price in title

    • Thanks, Fixed

Also 16TB EXOS from East Digital for $256 if that’s up your alley.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/855517

    • But 8TB $237.84 will be new.

      • Easy Digital is New (ofc, who knows, but can verify yourself once purchase on CDI)

If you were getting 2, you’d just get the 16’s and run in RAID imo.

Also, from what I have read here, East Digital is pretty good on returns, just look up them on search here.

Looks to be CMR which is good. When did HDDs get so expensive… Lame

    • +3

Hard to find a bargain even on Prime day!

    • I think I bought the same drive 3 years ago for $185. What's that rule about doubling and halving in price every 18 months or whatever?

      • Moore’s Law

      • Looks like it followed Inflation's Law: Price doubled every 2 years

      • +1

HDD pricing never followed moores law, that's related to chips.

        • *More's Law

    • They released NAS specific drives like these. You can still buy dirt cheap standard consumer drives.

      • Any links would be appreciated, Ideally I am after 2 x 10TB that will only be used as back up and recovery.

  • $223 per drive, if you are buying two!! Just noticed extra 6% off.

Been trying to find a deal on WD Red 12+TB

    • Yeah same, that or 16tb. 8-10tb just isn't enough in a single drive for me anymore.

Just be careful with these drives, they often do not ship with any packaging

    • I've ordered 3 WD Reds from Amazon US and they've been packed very well.

Great drives. I am running 2 in my NAS. Cool and quiet, great peformance/low noise/efficient. Would have loved a deal on a 12-22TB version.

Note the 10GB red plus is not well reviewed.

I bought exos for my NAS because it was so much cheaper , but damn it's noisy all the time .

I literally just installed a new Synology DS923+ and two WD Red 8TB that I ended up buying for $540 (price for 2xWD80EFPX, which was good according to camelcamelcamel), after waiting for Amazon Prime deals (and finding nothing).

At least the HDs I bought were delivered locally in two days, carefully packed, but yes, expensive compared to $237 (or even $223).

Thanks OP, been waiting for a good deal on WD Reds. Grabbed 2.

Re postage, one of the reviewers have put photos up if interested. If it’s DoA, I’m pretty sure can do free returns for up to 30 days?
