I just realize they don't taste any good after putting them inside the fridge.
You can reheat them in an air fryer or oven for pretty good results compared to microwaving them
Yep, microwave + airfryer combo is the best method. If you only use airfryer, they can get a bit dry by the time they are hot all the way through. I generally aim to get the chicken about 60-70% heated with the microwave, then airfryer on 150degrees for 3-5 mins. comes out perfect. You can even freeze hot chips and then reheat them this way.
all the fastfood taste same to me after refrozen
It's not good enough. KFC advertised 9 pieces of chicken for $9.99, but I got only 8 pieces today - and this isn't the first time. Others online have had the same experience. KFC appears maybe deliberately shortchanging customers to boost profits, especially on busy days when consumers are more likely to overlook discrepancies. If this tactic is deliberate, it takes advantage of consumers' trust and vulnerability, leading to deceptive conduct. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) needs to take action to protect consumers from unfair business practices and ensure companies honor their advertising claims. It's high time for the ACCC to:
The cumulative effect of such practices can have a significant impact on consumers' wallets and trust in businesses. I feel cheated and shouldn't shut up - and let you take our money anymore
like this, KFC.
@[Deactivated]: I got the 24 nuggets for $10 in yesterday's deal but I'm sure I only got 12 pieces
@x x: Exactly - It feels awful. KFC has a pattern of shortchanging customers, and I'm not the only one who got less than advertised. Now, you're sharing your experience with the 24 nuggets 'deal'. This is unacceptable and deceiving.
We must continue speaking out and holding KFC accountable.
The ACCC needs to investigate and take action to protect consumers. Let's keep sharing our experiences and pushing for ever-present change and transparency in business practices, or keep getting shafted.
@[Deactivated]: now i wanna go buy this deal just to count how many pieces
@capslock janitor: Please do share your findings. Ofcourse, while it is not expected to be a universal bad experience, every dissatisfied voice counts,
and even a few hundred or thousand instances can translate to significant profits for franchisers.
Regardless, let's keep sharing our experiences and pushing for transparency, balance and honesty in business practices.
@[Deactivated]: I don't think they done it on purpose. What do you expect when you have young kids working under the pump and getting paid peanuts? Probably they couldn't care less. Next time count the pieces before you leave the store.
@Scrooge McDeal: You're absolutely right. This issue goes beyond individual mistakes or oversights.
As I understand your point, it's not just about young kids making mistakes or adult managers who should know better. It's a systemic problem, especially on busy days with offers, that highlights a larger concern with KFC's business practices.
This seems to be a regular issue with KFC's packaging and advertising practices. Multiple customers, including myself, have experienced the same problem.
It's not about counting pieces before leaving the store and waiting in a long queue again if you're inclined. It's about KFC honoring their advertising claims, which makes all the difference.
Fair trade in business is a value to cherish. I'm not asking for perfection, nor are others. But we deserve fairness, transparency, and what we pay for. Let's hold KFC accountable for their actions and push for better business practices.
@[Deactivated]: You're getting served by young teenagers. Not everything is a conspiracy.
@chrisadelaide: The fact is, no conspiracy theories here, just a consistent pattern of shortchanging customers.
Mistakes happen, but multiple reports from various customers, including myself, suggest a business practice that prioritizes profits over customer satisfaction. It's vital to hold companies accountable for their actions and protect consumer rights.
@[Deactivated]: Fill out a feedback / complaint form on their website and ask for a partial refund. I’ve done it before with success. They ask for the receipt and it’s really minimal fuss. It helps customers and kfc in the end.
@eggboi: Firstly, I appreciate your suggestion, but I'm looking for a more systemic solution.
It's clear that a partial refund, while helpful in this instance, doesn't address the broader issue of KFC's egregious apparent practices. Others here, for example, are also victims.
Any normal person would realize that we deserve better than being consistently shortchanged and misled. As well, KFC has not quickly acted upon concern raised as well. It's time to hold businesses accountable for their claims and ensure they honor their promises from the start.
And meantime, I will delete KFC's apps.Together, those affected can push for change beyond individual refunds and demand a higher standard of transparency, fairness, and quality for a better experience for all customers, always.
@[Deactivated]: What we need to do is get Julian Assange into a job at KFC
Miss when 9 for 9 was standard every Tuesday
We can thank currency devaluation via currency printing. 😔
Print whole stacks of money and give the majority of them to the rich to make them richer.
Can we order for next day? 👀
Add to cart then leave until tomorrow morning, order shortly after the store opens. Still working as of 2 days ago.
Do you proceed past payment screen, or is it fine to leave before that?
The latter, just needs to be in cart and that's it.
@MiscOzB: Cheers, food sorted for tomorrow!
@P1xellat3d: Your screenshot shows you tried it after 2PM, is that when your local opens?
@BLAIL: No, but i didn’t know I had to checkout asap the next day. Guess there is a window where it works in the morning?
@P1xellat3d: By "shortly after the store opens" I meant within an hour or so after opening. But seems it got patched completely anyway.
@MiscOzB: Going to try proceeding past payment and picking up tomorrow. Will see if it works 🙏
@P1xellat3d: Scratch what I just said, didn't see the latest comments in that thread, it is still working at least for some of the deals.
@MiscOzB: I feel like that’s because some deals are regular menu items and the coupon just brings down the price.
The 9 pieces is not a regular menu item, so it gets invalidated the next day.
That’s my guess anyway.
Amazing thank you. Do you have to pick up straight away?
No, can be picked up later in the day by opening the order back up in More tab > Account > Order History
Can you leave it in the cart for 2 days?
Yes, others have reported as being able to order several days later.
Do we need to complete payment just after they open the next day for this to work? Can’t wait until the arvo?
Best to complete payment asap when store opens. You don't have to check in until you want to pick it up on that day.
Planning to do it for this deal, will find out tomorrow haha
You can - had an area coach complain about this happening
Everyone saying you can do this, but I'm pretty sure it has been "patched" for this promo?
Each promo menu item has been removed from the menu (instead of just hidden) the day after for these July deals.
Didn't work for me. I had it in my cart yesterday, and this morning tried to check out but got error
Not available for pick up
Same message with greyed out checkout button :(
Yea nah
Don't work today unable to checkout
Ripper deal, shame that we have already chuck some chicken into the oven for lunch/dinner…
Maybe you can put it in the cart and buy tomorrow at 10 am ;-) pickup tomorrow anytime.
KFC doing their part for the weight / obesity epidemic. Noble work.
Eating this sometimes (not often) could reduce stress and feel so good while eating. It's part of small happiness ;-)
Just walk 10k steps or exercise later if you worry about weight :P
If people balance KJ input with KJ output, should be no weight gain
I'm such a fat (profanity) get in my belly
had to wait 45mins for mine last week.
Which store?
like every store.. the line for mine was an hour ahahahah
My store had a 10 min wait
@Quarter Pounder: If only all employees were like you. You seem to know your job. At my local KFC I see all new faces all the time. Most of them are slow af, and there are young kids that they don't seem to care. No planning whatsoever on deals like these. Waiting for me would be minimum 40 minutes. I had a 40 minute wait on the Hot wings deal.
Carlingford Court
Buy now on the app and pick up later. Go to the Cashier and mention order number with menu name from KFC email. Hopefully not long wait …
I always set pick up like 15 20 mins before i arrived.
Good deal but had like 4 pieces the size of like wicked wings..
It's a good deal for the chicken only but I was planning to go visit the old man and split this with him for lunch. By the time you get a few boxes of chips and/or other sides the Cheap as Chips deal ends up being better value IMO.
Clearly you need to up your Ozbargain game
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/854628
Long shot here but is it possible to get the 9 hot and crispy wings instead?
My next target will be 15 chicken wings for $10 by the end (30) of this month ;-)
You are mixing up different kfc products into one lol
😞
Yeah I have very rarely ever had KFC, thought I’d try it out today. Though I reckon the original flavour might just be a bit too bland for me.
How about Hot and spicy for this 9 pcs :P try other sauce that you like. I love ABC original chilli sauce for KFC, real spicy and sweet. I don't like Tabasco.
@neoleo: Don’t consume or buy sauces like that lol
Though we use the ABC sauce at work sometimes, goes well with some dumplings.
@Gervais fanboy: It's normal in my country to have KFC either with tomato sauce or chilli sauce. I suspect the chilli sauce is ABC chilli sauce inside KFC in my country. Also rice is available too. More revenue for them if they also sell rice as there are many more Asians now.
Most of the chicken is overcooked and dry
In WA you can mix and match regular and hot and crispy but I don't know if they will straight swap for crispy wings
I got lucky today Hot fresh straight out of the cooker no wait and 6 fresh buns to have with it i managed to leave 2 peices for tonight
Fully now
You smashed seven pieces of chicken and six buns in one sitting?
Yes 2 drum.2wings..1 thigh..2 ribs
Easy as
Modern day Australian
Be careful with "Stroke" risk. Someone died (from stroke) last month from eating too many fried chicken with rice …
oh this is me without the stroke D;
How many drumsticks are supposed to be in this anyone know? Was told they come frozen in a pack though last time i only received two drumsticks
They don't come frozen - the typical 9 piece should include 2 ribs, 2 drumsticks, 2 wings, 1 beast and 2 thighs
1 beast??? I most likely remember incorrectly guess they just said they come in a pack
Got 5 wings in the box of 9
I got it last week and had 7 drumsticks. Was not particularly impressed.
They were probably using Houston cut then - drumsticks and thighs only
Houston cut?
@askvictor: Houston we have a problem!
Buy early, not late night … Maybe you got left over stock :P
I had this the other day, they were pumped, chicken was looking and drenched in oil, the box almost fell apart.
Wouldn't get it again
Buy early, not late night …
You're right - that was partially my fault too!
agree. chicken was cooked in burnt oil, and turns out too dark, and taste nothing but burnt meat&flour…… need to avoid…..
Maybe you got new staff there at that time. Maybe try different time, or ask to swap with better chicken …
I had this for lunch already, eat with white rice and ABC original chilli sauce 🤤. Taste good also with white rice as I don't like brown rice. Feeling and taste so good eating this way, compared with eating chicken only (boring if only chicken without chilli sauce at least, even better with rice). Put the rest in the fridge, cheap meals :P I chose all hot and spicy, no waiting :D Ordered and confirmed on the app before going out, so no waiting, at least not too long …
classic Indonesian!
or South East Asian! #indopride #SEApride
;-)
how u chose hot spicy ?
In the app, only in certain stores like in Sydney Town Hall, Haymarket, Broadway (in front of Central station), etc.
Is anyone else's app not letting it go through?
It wouldn't show in my app at first but I kept refreshing and eventually it popped up. Mine was delicious and I would order again.
My freezer is starting to get full with all these KFC deals.
