People are complaining that they couldn't get both monitors to display 4K@60Hz. The listing does say what the limitations are depending on your device. I.e. DP 1.4 without DSC won't do two 4K displays at 60Hz, while DP 1.4 DSC will.
i meant that there are often recent reviews saying that these cheaper adapters die after a month or two, compared to brands like anker that seem to have a much lower failure rate. i know they're more expensive and have less features, but it seems that unless you're really lucky, you'll get a lemon that you have to go through customer support for and ultimately create ewaste
Mine worked like a charm initially, doing extended dual monitors via HDMI. Then, after about a month, it stopped working and now only duplicates the display via those HDMI outputs. Fairly annoying but not worth messing about at this price point.
@Ayanami: i spent $40 on an anker that's working great for my steam deck
Was about to get this one for my Mac book pro but comments aren’t encouraging…
Any suggestions is appreciated - need two hdmi for two 4k monitors and 3 usbs as a minimum..
If you want 2 x 4K on a Mac, you need a Thunderbolt dock / hub (preferably Thunderbolt 4). Thunderbolt uses daisy chain whereas USB uses MST for multiple displays. Thunderbolt only offer USB-C/alt-mode compatibility for 1 display.
Another thing with this one is it indicates if you were to use both HDMI ports on a Mac, despite they will both show exactly the same contents, the max resolution for both of them is 4K/30Hz.
All these off brands have terrible Amazon reviews fyi
