AmpolCash $25 eGift Card for 5250 Rewards Points @ Westpac Altitude Rewards

130

When redeeming my 93,000 Westpac Altitude Rewards Points, I noticed it was cheaper to redeem 4x $25 gift cards (21,000 points) instead of 1x $100 card (23,500 points) for AmpolCash.

Using this I managed to redeem 17x $25 gift cards, and used the remaining points in exchange for ~$15 'pay with points' (bought some Amazon gift cards on shopback).

Total value redeemed $440.

You have to be logged in to see the price, but I have an image here that shows what's going on.

I assume you're referring to this card bonus https://www.rwrds.com.au/credit-cards/westpac-altitude-rewar…

In which case why wouldn't you go for the annual fee rebate instead? It nets you more at $450+3000 leftover points and is essentially real cash.

yep, annual fee rebate is always better

    • Yehh that one. Ah, I made the assumption I wouldn't get any rebate because of the $0 fee and didn't want to take the chance of having to contact them and chase for my points back if I redeemed and nothing happened lol.

      • It worked for me when I got this card last year with $0 fee. The only restriction is you can claim each rebate denomination once only (the rwrds page is slightly incorrect in this regard)

  • Thanks OP, I'm was about to redeem my 93,000 points and also wonder if there was a catch.

Also, how long did it take to receive them?

Can you pay your gas using multiple $25 at the same time?

    • I redeemed them one evening (all 17 in the same order) and got an email saying it would need to be manually verified by a human because of the high value of the order.
But I received all of them in the early hours of the morning when I was asleep.

I too am unsure about the use of multiple cards. I'll ask next time I go in.

      • Oh but it is e-gift cards? not physical card ?
