If you can live with vodafone reception, why not go with TPG 25gb for $12.50 a month.. for 6 months..
    Cost for 1/2 year: $75
    Data: 150gb
So same cost but more data plus month to month payment.
I know the woolies points can be worth it, but being stuck with vodafone for a year is risky if there is a chance of moving house/work location in the near future.

Amaysim (Optus) 12 months, 200GB for $125 after cashback is another option.

That's a good idea, looks like month-to-month as well so can cancel anytime. Thanks!

Yeah I actually bought a couple a few days for relatives visiting from overseas for a month.. best deals i could find.

    • Sounds like a plan, but how can I keep my original ph number, otherwise confuses all of my contacts.

      • You choose during the purchase if you want to keep your number or get a new one

    • i have telstra and vodafone dual esim and vodafone kicks telstras ars on speed and reception.. Telstra does not keep up with their tower maintenance to increase bandwidth

Plus Vodafone renewal cost is still $250 and data reverts back to 150GB.

Good points: data banking, 5G where available and can wait to activate until November 2024

    • @Ridiculous Panda Do the cheaper TPG plans get 5G access or is it only the more expensive 60GB data plan that you do?

    • +2

TPG have an 11 dollar port out fee

  • The only problem I see is that you’d be connected to the Vodafone network, otherwise looks like a good deal 👍

That's a good thing where I live so I guess it depends on your location.

    Boost is still the best

      meh

    • For you , not for all.

  • This wouldn't work for $5/day overseas roaming right?

  • How do you connect the 5% discount to Everyday Reward card?

  • Man this would be great if it was 20gb/month. Or if you could keep the data banked and only use it when you needed too.

Reason being that Vodafone have unlimited data at decent enough speeds for basic use, but only once you've used the included data.

Reception is woeful… Buy at your own risk.

  • How to test Vodafone reception without purchase a $20 starter pack? Optus is not the best at where we live.

  • Can this be used to recharge an exisiting Vodafone pre-paid?

    • No, this is a Starter Pack, not a recharge voucher.

  • Just what I need to run a portable Vodafone wifi modem at my mother's house for the internet doorbell. I bought the modern I've a year ago with a $99 100GB starter pack but I forgot to recharge the SIM. Didn't get any notification either. For $150 this will keep the doorbell streaming a year.

      Just for a Doorbell?

      Sounds expensy for no reason.

My kogan wifi smart lights connect to wifi… if that's ever a future issue? (I'm guessing it connects to something THIRD PARTY )?? Kogan Smarthome servers and has export to google api as well.

      • There is no wifi running at the house - my elderly mother doesn't use any internet these days - so data is only needed for the doorbell camera.

Bought this deal from last time. Please be warned Vodafone network is atrocious even in urban areas.

Nabbed this at woolies this morning. Allowed my 10% monthly to be applied to via the Everyday Rewards.. So really made it $135. Decent deal!

  • Last time I bought this sim card, my sim card couldn't make or receive any phone call. I spent hours on the phone trying to resolve the issue, which they repeatedly only instruct me to reset network settings and they reset their network on their end. They couldn't find any issue but my problem still persist, so I ended up just wasting my time in many calls. I gave up after 1.5 months, cut my losesn and port out to Amaysim. There has been no issue so far. I'm sure this is such a rare cases, but now it makes me think twice on buying a long expiry sim card

    • Huh so you bought a 1 year sim and didn't get to use it? Did you ask for a new sim to be sent out?

Just so you know here in Aus we have consumer laws. We also have the TIO which can be used to submit a complaint if network service providers can't resolve a serious issue like this.

      • I didnt get a new sim card, but I switched to e-sim to see if the issue was with the physical sim. I might be able to get my money back by submitting complaint to ATO, but at the time I just couldn't wait anymore not able to make a phone call

  • Hs anyone had any experience/issues paying for one of these using a Wish gift card?

My thinking is they could classify it as a gift card rather than a regular item - though someone saying they were able to use 10% off makes me think that won't be the case.

  • I used an Essentials gift card to pay for one yesterday. No problem. We'd already used my 10% of this month for grocery shopping so that wasn't applied but the bonus 2000 Rewards points peovides a $10 discount of the next shop.
