Temu: 50% Cashback (New Customers) @ Cashrewards

353

Temu has 50% Cashback rate for new customers and 6% for returning customers. As always cashback excludes GST. Under "Stack your savings": New users get 30% off orders over $39.

New customer offers are limited to 1 reward per Cashrewards account.

For me, I never have problems with tracking from any cashback companies. I always use Chrome mobile browser (no add-ons in mobile version) in my android phone with adblocker app disabled and normal DNS (Do not use NextDNS/Adguard DNS, or other DNS with adblocking/tracking blocked).

Cashback is ineligible on the following:
* Purchase of gift cards or use of gift cards for full or partial payment.
* Purchases using coupon codes not listed on Cashrewards.
* Items that are cancelled, returned, exchanged or refunded.
* GST, other taxes and delivery fees.
* Fraudulent transactions.
* Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching.

This cashback promotion will end 9 July at 11.59 PM.

"Hey guys, and thank you. As I commented here, we're already in talks with both TEMU and their affiliate partner network to get this resolved. As they are based in China, the responses have been slow but we are making progress. We know there's an issue, and it's just a matter of them finding the root cause & fix. For now, please lodge a claim if your order failed to track. You won't hear back until we've sorted this out. Note also we've taken the precautionary step of pausing TEMU on TCB for now. And please don't worry, we will fix this. Have a great day :)"

So, it's up to you if you want to try shopping through Cashrewards for this Temu cashback promotion. The only concern is whether Temu will pay the cashback commission to cashback companies that will be given to us as cashback. I don't worry about tracking for cashback.

Ooof with Temu stuffing up with a fair few people in recent Shopback and TopCashback this one will be interesting!

    Fingers crossed

    • -6

Mostly because of tracking problem … I never fail for tracking. I suspect whether Apple devices block certain tracking. Other factors may include which DNS people use, whether people use Pi-hole (adblocking/tracking blocked) or not, home/work wifi, certain settings in the browser such as Do Not Track enabled, Third party cookies are allowed or not in the browser settings, etc. Brave browser has adblocker built-in, so need to change the settings, better avoid for cashback tracking. Firefox may also block certain tracking.

      • +3

I've very very rarely had a failed tracking but Temu popped up with those two deals in fairly quick succession of one another and a few people had issues, myself included with the Shopback one. I have cashbacks tracked before and after with Shopback on the same day however so I dare say it's something on the Temu end, but hopefully it's resolved and won't affect the CR side of things

      • Out of curiosity how quickly did they track and what combo of browser/app/device were you using? Willing to give it another try but cancel the order if it doesn't track quickly enough.

        • Um just used android browser. both seems to track pretty quick. Haven't tried SB yet.

  • +4

    Last one didn't track

Look like TopCashback remove Temu on their website, wonder if the previous transaction will still get paid or not

    • Don't worry as we have tightarse as the store rep for TopCashback. More concern with the other cashback companies …

      • Tightarse doesn’t do anything except say “it’s with the merchant and nothing else to do except wait a few months until they get back to us”

@neoleo: Yes that can be summarized as it’s with the merchant and nothing can be done until they get back to us

    • Oh No! Topcashback.com.au Temu offers of 50% cashback for existing customers was so good.
Hey @tightarse what happened with partnership with Temu?

      • +1

Read my comment above your comment. It's his comment about Temu. So, we just wait and relax …

        • Aha just read now. Thanks mate

    • +2

probably sick to death of dealing with all the untracked orders

  • +6

Cashbacks are alot of hassle when they aren't honoured. Best to work that into your calculations.

    • Cashbacks should always be considered as a bonus, not as a means to buy stuff because it's cheaper with that.

      • I agree

        • And only pay with cash lol.

  • +1

Cancelling an order is pretty easy with Temu, I find they take a couple of days to post so if you're lucky you can catch it not tracking (tracking usually takes <24 hours) and cancel before they ship.

    • +1

Once I missed temu offer from shopback by less than a min, tried to email SB to see if they could provide an exception this time. No luck. By the time I was done negotiating with SB’s CS, the package was shipped, I tried my luck to see if I can still cancel my order from temu. To my surprise they canceled it, refunded the full amount and even said not to bother returning the package. Pretty much got $80 worth of free items. That was my first order with them.

      • +1

Nice … $80 worth of free items

  • +3

Has anyone noticed increase in spam calls after signing with Temu ?

  • +3

    Minimum spend is $45.

    • -6

Maybe try to ask CS through chat to reduce the minimum spending, otherwise you'll not buy anything and this is your first time shopping with Temu … Maybe say You'll consider to buy more after this …

    • +1

The $45 minimum spend is a nuisance if all you want is a small cheap to manufacture item like a packet of stickers, a stainless steel pendant, cufflinks, a coffee cup, a sign, etc. On Ali Express you just have to order $10 USD/$15 AUD for free shipping (it can be from different merchants), otherwise you pay $2 USD for shipping. For the same item Temu is usually cheaper than Ali, and much cheaper if you have coupon codes or/or large cashback. However, Temu has a smaller range of products. I visited Wish once, but they seemed to be the worst of both worlds.

  • +7

I still haven't received any cashback from recent temu purchase via cashrewards.
Cashrewards has not replied my request to check missing cashback.

    • +2

So, it's untracked transaction. I wonder how many people haven't got their cashback from tracked transactions and how many months?

      • +4

I feel cashrewards service has gone down to the drain since TA moved out. I used to get reply from cashrewards in 1-2 days.

  • +2

So, there is still no OzBargain rep for CR after the departure of tightarse?

    • -2

How about asking CR to hire me with the condition that I can approve any transactions from Ozbargainers as the company will be the one who'll pay all the cashback :P

CR is backed by ANZ Bank if I am correct …
There should be no financial issues …

had my fun with Temu first half of this year…and half of what you buy is craptastic quality….and now the shipping minimum is $40?!?

  • Yeah nah (profanity) Temu, as much as a """""""""""""""""""""good""""""""""""""""""""" deal this is

  • I haven't been able to have my previous Temu purchases tracked on either Cashrewards or ShopBack.

  • +1

Pimp your private data for the discounts Temu offers. All the best and enjoy your shopping.

    • Which companies don't have some sort of trackings or collect data for online shopping? If you never do online shopping, maybe different story.

Maybe you have Amazon account, AliExpress, Facebook, instagram, etc. At least they have your phone numbers and email, yes? Include your card number when you buy online, unless if you use PayPal/Google Wallet/Apple Pay.

  • +2

I have had a bad experience with CR and Temu.

Took the new customer offer last year around Oct-Nov, did not track automatically, chased CR and they happily added the cashback.

Fast forward a few months I went back to check some other cashback and while scrolling found the Temu cashback that had been added by their own staff back then was declined, chased them again and got a BS reply stating - that another marketing channel received a commission on your purchase

I specifically follow a routine set of steps while making cashback purchases be it any platform including the browser with no adblockers and is the reason I call their reasoning BS. Anyways can not be bothered to stuck in a chasing loop anymore, just slowing moving away from them unless the deal is really good.

Long story short - Buyer Beware, even if they have added your cashback to your account after chasing, they do revert it back(and I believe especially after sometime when people have forgotten about it)

I have had good tracking record with CR since last 5-6 years with 100's of $ in CB, but this was sure hell a dodgy one leaving me wondering how many they may have declined at later stages that I never noticed. YMMV

    • +2

      That's pretty dodgy.

    • What is your device? Windows or android or Apple device? Which browser? Recently I withdrawed cashback from Cashrewards, still good. But I never have experienced failed tracking with any cashback companies. I always use Chrome mobile browser in my phone.

      • Use MBP and chrome, don't prefer small devices personally.

Not saying CR is bad, I have had lifetime earnings close to $900 now with successful withdrawals every time. Just this dodgy transaction got me thinking since they had manually added the CB, which I take they only did after whatever checks and diligence are required at their end and then the revert/decline when I had completely forgotten about it.

          Check the Setting
          Safari > Preferences > Privacy
Prevent trackers from using cookies and website data to track you: “Prevent cross-site tracking.”

Is this in your MBP, Safari setting?

I have suspicion that Apple devices block some trackings …
I have iPad, but I never use it for shopping. Mostly to read news, a lot of free magazines from Libby app with free library membership.

    • +1

Temu cheating at business… now that would seem uncharacteristic for Chinese companies who undercut everyone and abuse postal concessions

      • Quite possible it could be more of a Temu issue

  • +1

Does anyone know if cashback is still honored if you get a price adjustment?

  • +1

Shopbacks doing it too at 55%. I finally caved 2 weeks ago and placed an order. It's been tracked but it won't be til september that I'll know if it worked.

I spent roughly $150 over 20 items. With the 30% new user discount and the cashback, it brings the cost down by 60%. Temu doesn't have the range of Ali, but at those prices worth the gamble

  • +2

Don't trust temu cashbacks, they rarely track for some reason.
Best bet is to open the mobile app every couple of days and if you're lucky they have this spinning wheel competition, you spin it and they give you like $100-$150 in coupons IF you checkout within the next 10 mins. First, checkout and pay the minimal ($40-45?, come back and you get 3-4 coupons worth $100-150 (located under Profile > Coupons). Most of those coupons are like spend $100 to get $30 off, spend $60 get $20 off. Works out at 30-35% off and yeah only good if you got a bunch of stuff you want to buy. Unlike cashbacks, you get the discount applied immediately.

  • +2

Tried last night, got all the coupons under the sun, it forced me to spend $30 to get the free item and "save" 50% on the rest.
I don't want to buy $30 of things to get the free $4 item…
Despite trying multiple times, gave up when asked me to spend $55

  • +1

Only one time I bought stuff from Temu, website would not work on my phone to buy stuff, insisted on installing the app. I don't want that shiet on my device so went to the desktop. Prices were worse and insisted on $40 spend.

The question that asks me is what advantage they take having their app on my phone. Zero trust in this company.

  • +2

Temu are having major tracking issues for all affiliate partners across multiple platforms. Instead I'm just relying on the late delivery credit, price adjustment credit, daily credit and using the trick to get 90% off products.

    • How do you get the daily credit? Is it to do with the gift box promo offer?

  • I opened a Temu account last night on a pc to get this deal and this morning I had the first porno popup in over ten years. Coincidence? Defender and Malwarebytes can't find anything.

    • Saves you typing it in..

      Adblockers for chrome work alright..

      For mobile setup a Private DNS, gets rid of a lot of ads (but disable for cashbacks);
      dns.adguard.com

  • Okay giving this a go despite all the warnings, the 30% new customer discount got the price down to lower than AliExpress anyway - so hopefully cashback tracks too. Will update on progress to give other's an indication.

    • Just wanted to post an update - looks like it has tracked with no issues. Bought via the Cashrewards app on iOS.

  • Stuff sold there look the same as ebay or aliexpress but somehow quality is much trashier?

    • Some items are exactly the same. Aliexpress would win because they dont have a minimum order and much wider range of items. Aliexpress has fast free shipping for many items too, with a minimum of over $15 which is good. Temu prices fluctuate too readily. They say they will refund any difference but it has to be those listings you bought from, which usually become "out of stock" before you get the chance to claim any refund. If you like something you can't bookmark it and come back later because theyre only there temporarily which seems a bit shonky. The childish games that come up are really annoying because they alienate any of their customers above the age of 12. Most adults would want to buy, and not mess around with games.

      • Hit it on the head when you say it's a bit shonky. It's sideshow shopping. Everyone knows it's cheap crap but gambling is fun.

  • +1

Just got email that mine successfully tracked. Took about 10hrs. Did same as OP, used chrome mobile browser, no adblock, 3rd-party cookies enabled and do not track request turned off.

  • Has anyone tried withdrawing money from cashrewards recently? I can't seem to get the Sms message to verify. It last worked in June 27th.

    • Last time I withdrawed on July 3, received it in my bank account on July 4. It's from Amaysim 100% cashback.

  • I added about $90 worth of items to my cart and then registered as a new user while entering checkout.

But it didn't apply a 30% discount. How do you make the 30% discount apply to the cart total?

  • My partner signed up for first time, that CR account never had any Temu order either. Ordered >$150 on Saturday, didn't get the 30% discount that was mentioned on CR and also >24 hours later still no tracking.
Considering if I should just cancel my order completely for refund.

  • Temu order didn't track, contacted Temu support and they are suggesting cashrewards is related to a scam, I got the following response when I contacted them about the tracking with cashrewards and showed them the screenshot of the promotion:

Thank you so much for patience. I am really sorry for this inconvenience, please be beware of any advertisements on social media promoting Temu gift cards, product reviewers, mystery boxes, pallets/surveys or 750$ rewards - these may be scams. Official Temu promotions will always be announced on our website: www.temu.com and app. If you ever have doubts about a supposed Temu offer, please contact our customer support for verification before providing any personal information or payment. We aim to protect our customers from fraudulent promotions and appreciate your discretion

I was offered $5 (and later $10) credit in Temu as "compensation" for the inconvenience (So for the +-$80 cashback I would miss out on).
Tomorrow will mark the 7days, wondering if I should bother raising a missing claim with CR, or just return it all for refund (once it arrives) and forget about it.
I read about the missing cashback for some that was added, then declined later on saying it was accredited to some other promotor.

    • Don't think the average Temu staff know what Cashrewards is or any of the cashback companies for that matter. To them it's just a 3rd party company.
So I wouldn't contact Temu support in regards to cashback not tracking or any cashback problems. Would just contact the cashback company directly,.

      • It wasn't the average staff anymore, as the issue was handed over to the more specialised department (according to what they said).
They then said there was no affiliate linked to this sale.
Sure, cashrewards can put the amount in pending, then chances are that after return window is closed they move it to declined.
Ultimately it's the retailer that needs to assign the sale, cashrewards won't tell you until it's too late to return.

        • Fair enough. Just based on the fact that Temu suggesting Cashrewards is a scam (which we know they aren't because Ozbargainers have used Cashrewards for years). And the the reply you quoted from Temu sounded very generic, it just doesn't seem like they know what's going on in terms of how cashback works….

Anyway, Temu tracking is bit of hit and miss with all the cashback companies. Most transactions track, but sometimes it doesn't sadly. I myself have had to raise tickets to sort out the issue. Not with Cashrewards, but with Shopback and TCB.

Hopefully it turns out OK for you. Or if you don't want to roll the dice, then return all. Good luck.
