Arduino Uno $6.50 + $8 Delivery (Free Over $50) @ Zaitronics (Counterfeit item)Fake imitation product of an Arduino Uno. It's 'compatible'.
it says compatible on the web site , what’s the problem ?
The title before mods revised it did not have the word "compatible". Therefore misrepresenting the item. People shouldn't need to go digging to find out it isn't a real board. By the way, web page was also revised after this deal was published.

@Lucille Bluth: Negging to highlight issue with seller as per above
Yoooooooo, we did it boys.
Still the website is lying, so if you, as a concerned citizen want to file a complaint that link is: https://www.accc.gov.au/about-us/contact-us-or-report-an-iss…
Claiming that this is an Arduino Uno is clearly a lie.
Negging to bring attention to this issue which is the reason why the previous post was removed. Website still says it's an Arduino Uno Board.
Read ACCC website
To support the creates and the future innovations, we recommend to buy directly from the official Arduino store.
Well that solves the problem
web says compatible…. read it.
It was only changed after I negged.
Replying becuase I can no longer edit my original comment: OP has finally updated the title on the site. Good on you for realising your mistake, even if it did come after solidly sledging me for a few comments.
For anyone who wants this without the $8 shipping: https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-Arduino-board.html?os…
Or a 13 in 1 starter kit for less than this, shipped: https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006230509796.html
Oh, even better deal here: https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005004075405103.html
Thanks. Cheaper from Aliexpress.
Cheers. We use these at work for various jobs, so always good to pick up some spares.
Cheaper elsewhere.
The word "compatible" does not have the same meaning in English as "inferior copy".
The word compatible means "works with", as in, these generic ink cartridges are compatible with an Epson printer. Not, this is a generic printer, and Epson makes printers, so this generic printer is "compatible" to an Epson.
Me thinks that the (likely intentional) confusion is with the word "comparable".
What's the difference with the fakes? Chinese malware?
Most likely fine but it was more about the store not declaring that they are not originals which they have now updated
I've bought a LOT of cheap and cheerful arduino clones. I've only had an issue with one or two. I can't say they won't have malware but the chip is fairly simple and unlikely to. Getting into an ESP32 type chip it's more of a possibility (they have on board wifi and Bluetooth), but still unlikely.
You can even get some cool stuff like more up to date USB ports (c vs micro) and on board screens and buttons etc.
That said, the quality is clearly inferior to official Arduino (and even solid third party) boards. You can see that from the soldering and component choice, and I suspect you'd see some ripple in the DC outputs and probably lower limits if you push the data frequencies to their absolute limits. This won't affect 99% of people using these boards tho.
Buy from aliexpress, it's cheaper and you can get fun kits.
I might be totally wrong. But I think usually not much except maybe inferior parts/manufacturing. Arduino boards are open for the most part so manufacturers can just make their own and re-sell as far as I understand so many just do that.
The issue is more about naming, such as calling your clone board an "Arduino brand". More trademark guidelines can be seen here: https://support.arduino.cc/hc/en-us/articles/4677964202908-T…
FWIW I think its pretty cool that Arduino is this open that you can get incredibly cheap made boards. And I personally am not against deals where you can do so. As long as they are indeed a deal and transparent in what the product is.
Core has done it correctly. Just be aware that Arduino is a trademark, and the others are legal clones of Arduino.
Your real sin has been to advertise a generic at higher price than Aliexpress. And in Perth I get faster delivery from China than from Sydney these days.Core has:
category: "Compatible Boards Arduino Uno R3"
title: Uno R3
description: Brand: Core Electronics
I think some folks are being a bit harsh.
Arduino, the Italian company, makes their designs open source for anyone to use without royalties. They retain the trademark to the name, so it cannot be silk-screened on the copies. But everyone refers to these as arduinos, and sometimes as arduino clones if they want to be specific. There was no intention to deceive here, and anyone expecting an original would be very foolish. Just look at the pictures!
You'd be better complaining about all the "refurbished" products that have had no parts replaced.
Here we go again.
