I bought after market replacement battery for our v8 for $64 and it's still going strong 2 years later.

    • Replace the battery with a 3rd party one.

      • Replace the battery with a 3rd party larger capacity battery and it will last much longer runtime.

I did with my 10 year old dyson stick and its still working like a charm.

      • Won't that be a heap of crap in 6 months time?

Between the lie about initial capacity and then also the degradation I mean

        • Yeah you do kind of have to get lucky, I replaced my V6 with a 3rd party one and it's been fine for the past 2 years. Otherwise yes cough up for a genuine Dyson battery.

You could also try (depending on how far out of warranty) contact Dyson and convince them to send a battery, it worked for us 18 months outside of warranty. Or 3rd party ones are decent.

Buy the cheapest cells you can find on Aliexpress and replace them in the current battery housing using a use once and return Amazon soldering iron.

      • Its a pretty dangerous option if you're not experienced…

        • It's a non starter mate… I really hope people don't take this sort of stuff on the internet seriously xD

Great unit detecting buyer's money and suck it out effectively :)

  • I have this. It's our everyday vacuum now (dog owner with carpet)
Suction is even better than the plug in ball Dyson it replaced and a V8 that the battery was wonky.

    11 months and no complaints.
Some may scoff at spending that much on a stick vacuum, and that's understandable, for us, it's been worthy purchase. Especially in sucking the dog hairs from the carpet.

  • Goodguys will better the price by $10, if you use their price beat button. That said, apparently still cheaper at Dyson’s eBay page- which is a top kek because I just bought one today.

  • I just bought this from JB for $880 with 10% member perks code. I actually bought one earlier in the week for $978 so have purchased it again and will take the new one back on the old receipt.

Im the doing the same. Bit annoying but $100 off extra is worth it.

  • Has anyone got mop attachment recommendations for this vacuum?

    • You mean like an after-market one.

      Don't they wreck your Dyson?

      • Yeah after-market one. I dont know if they are any good.

        Anyone here used them?
