  • "social exclusive" is not a smart marketing idea

  • Yet Oprus existing prepaid customers get screwed

    • Churn out with $2 sim, then back in mate

  • You need to activate by 31 July 2024, not sure if worth cutting current plan by 2 months.

    • Actually, you can buy the sim on 31/07/2024 and activate it within 30 days. Cheers :)

      • Huh, I was just referring to the T&Cs which states whichever is earlier.

        • +1

I had a chat with customer service during the last promotion, and they said it's okay to do so.

  • Can you use ShopBack with this deal?

When I use ShopBack link to Optus the deal is priced at $320?

Anyone got a screenshot on when you have to activate the service? Can you purchase the deal on 31/7 but activate it on 29/8?

I just want a screenshot incase I get a different result.

    • You can activate the sim within 30 days.

      • OK thank you. So 29 August 2024 just to be safe for activation.

  • Would this work with Cashrewards? Currently it seems you get $100 cashback, so similar to the recent deal. But I do notice this clause in the T&Cs for cashrewards:

*Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching."

  • I got told by two Optus staff members that I have to activate the service by 31 July.

    Can anyone else clarify this?

Ultimately what I want to do is to purchase on 31 July then wait 30 days before I activate. As I have weeks remaining on my existing prepaid service.

    • Update. I let time lapse between conversations with Optus staff as you then get a different perspective each time, and with Optus you definitely do get a different perspective.

Noticed on the Critical Information Summary and it states "Plans may no longer be available or may have changed if you do not activate
your SIM within 30 days of purchase."

I asked Optus what this meant…

To clarify, this means that when you purchase a prepaid SIM, if you do not activate your service within 30 days the order may be cancelled, and you'll need to get in touch with us to have this resolved.

Reading this, you can buy on 31 July 2024 and have 30 days to activate.
