I buy plenty of Lego for the kids, but regular price $80 for this? Hard to push the button even on the $48. Not being negative, just personally feel the set offers much for the money. I may be alone in that thinking.

    • Hi!! Thank you so much for your message. Any particular sets you would recommend? Daughter has gotten into it recently

This is the best set hands down for beginners.

There are some absolutely great ones, your experience may vary but these are the ones my boys absolutely loved:

but possibly the best advice I can give is save your money, there are ways to enjoy this for an absolute fraction of the cost.
I'll post some information here when I get the link shortly.

        Edit.
This awesome info is from @SuBw00FeR and I'll happily delete it if he doesn't want it here:

Yeah sure so there's a subreddit over at https://www.reddit.com/r/lepin/ where you can talk about it all ask questions etc. I recommend reading through https://www.reddit.com/r/lepin/comments/1bwtm7v/the_starter_… this will give you a lot more information of what to expect and all the different names etc.

To put it simply, you really can't go wrong, as long as you're buying from someone who has a lot of feedback you'll be fine.

I generally shop around to get the best price, all different sellers always have different sales and stuff on so shop around, don't be loyal.

Generally I find https://joooooy.com/ one of the best for fast shipping and decent (not the cheapest) pricing.

If you want the cheapest possible price and can wait around 4-5 weeks then

https://www.youmko.com/?DIST=QkFHHQ%3D%3D (This place does Clones of Lego sets)

        and

https://www.barweer.com/?DIST=RkNOHFg%3D (This place does NON-clones of Lego sets.)

are by far the best price wise, you can also do fast shipping if you need and it's usually still the best price you can find, they're sister sites one doing clones, other one doing unique sets and MOCs from people. They always have coupons running through their facebook page or even on the site.

If you shop on Temu a lot and have coupons/sales etc you can get same real bargains on there. Someone was able to get the Rivendell set for around $150 aud, which is a steal.

Oh I forgot to mention, so what I usually do, since I only buy the clone sets is I'll buy the set then just download the Lego manual from the Lego site because they have all their manuals online for anyone to download. I prefer it this way as it's easier for me to work off a computer screen, but the clone sets will generally come with a paper manual as well unless specified on the site.

Once you head down this path, you can save thousands, have many more choices and absolutely enjoy similar quality and a marked increase in variety.

Hope you find @SuBw00FeR information as helpful as I did.

    • I would never pay full price either but this set is 900 pieces with 52 wheels. My son has other classic sets and in those wheels are the thing lacking for him.
These classic sets come with instructions to make some models but theres a lot more other pieces and the idea is to be creative, so to me better value than say a Mario set.

      • Sounds like a very good explanation of why this set would make sense, thank you for sharing. I knew I was missing something.

        • Depends on age of kid really doesn’t it? Older kids get more out of the licensed sets but my 5 year old happy creating with this type of set.

  • These vehicles are too simple to enjoy unless it's a kids very first Lego. My 5yo wouldn't touch this set, he'd rather a themed set like Ninjago. $48 is a rort

  • We have a bunch of Lego from the classic boxes.
My 5 year old has just been getting into the Brickit app. He loves building vehicles, but like @hornbill above, the wheels are lacking.
The Brickit app gives thousands of suggestions, albeit quite simple, but perfect for kids!
