10% off Canon DSLRS @ JB Hi-Fi = Canon 650D with 18-135mm STM Lens: $886 after Cash Back

110

10% off all Canon DSLRS at JB Hi-Fi, which is reasonable enough for Australian stock, however Canon also have $100 cash back on some camera models, which makes the Canon 650D with 18-135mm STM lens kit only $886 after cash back.

If I was in the market for a DSLR today, I'd get that… great price.

  • Nice. Got it for $899 from Teds (after redemption) as part of Click Frenzy. Won't lose any sleep over $13.

  • Leederville Cameras have got it for $885 after cash back for the last 2 weeks.

I just bought 7D Body from them for $1350 3 weeks ago. Bummer!

Are you serious. They're completely different class. One is at the bottom of DX and the other is at the top end

  • Is this Super kit better than the Twin kit?
Which one would you get more use out of?

    • Doesn't have the range of the twin lens kit - 18-55mm and 55-250mm vs 18-135mm, but the STM one is meant to be better for video, and it also means you don't have to change lens to get a longer than 55mm shot.

  • JBhifi is pretty expensive even after their discounts really they are just giving you the negotiated price if you went to do this in person.. I was buying a canon 550d last year with the 18-55 stock lense and the other 85-255?twin lens package and it was 1200 with them and i negotiated it down to 1000 in person. I told them i'll think about it, went online and ended up buying the body with 18-55 stock for 600 instead off EBAY!!!!

Spent another $400 a few months later on a 17-85mm lens and it has made all the difference for me right now :) so check other places first imo, Kogan, eBay are great places to start, under $1000 purchases from eBay is Tax/VAT free so for the higher priced models you'd wanna buy the body and lens separately which usually works out better anyway

For Canon, ebay sells the "kiss" series which is japanese models? for ~100-200 cheaper than the "550d, 600d, etc" series which are the US names but im abit of a perfectionist so i spent abit extra for the 550d tagging…

    Just my 2cents

Kogan have it for $999, Digital Rev have it for $938…

      • so congratz to me for finding a much greater bargain than jbhifi back when i was shopping for a great camera wooooo!

        • A big thing for me though is local warranty through Cannon. It's something to keep in mind, especially given Canon not long ago did recall a number of units.

At $1200 going a grey import would probably be worth it. When it's under $900 for a kit its a bit less enticing.

    • cool story bro…

    • I do not want to criticise your decision but …
Twin lens package - most likely you'll want to upgrade within a year or so.
18-135 STM is a very good travel lens unless you really need a superzoom.
It is also a very good lens for video shooting outside.
So, what I am trying to say is that most likely an 18-135 will fit in your future set of lenses much better than kit lenses.
      imho.
btw 18-135 is ~$550 so effectively you pay ~$330 for the body. not too bad.

  • Thanks OP, just picked one up in store

  • great deal! dont think theyll do this on a preorder for a 6d =/
